    摘要: An ammunition magazine for small arm weapons having a reciprocating bolt and an ammunition feedwell therein includes a housing for storing a plurality of ammunition rounds and a drive spring for urging the ammunition rounds out of the housing. In addition, a feeder is provided for passing the ammunition rounds from the housing into the ammunition feedwell of the small arm weapon. The feeder is configured for being removably inserted into the small arm weapon ammunition feedwell and includes a feeder spring for urging ammunition rounds along the feeder from the ammunition housing and within the ammunition feedwell. An impact system is provided for engaging the reciprocating bolt of the small arm weapon and causing movement of the reciprocating bolt to compress both the drive spring and the feeder spring.

    摘要: An ammunition feed system wherein a single layer of ammunition is conveyed in a magazine by two independent closed loop conveyors disposed side by side in parallel, serpentine paths. Live rounds are fed on parallel output paths into first and second expansion rotor systems which, in turn, supply the rounds to a pair of feed rotors which insert the rounds alternately into a gun feeding conveyor. Spent rounds are withdrawn from the conveyor by a pair of return rotors, which, in turn, supply third and fourth expansion rotors, which return the spend rounds to the first and second parallel serpentine paths. The feed and return rotors contain pockets for receiving rounds alternating with surfaces for guiding rounds and cooperate with the expansion rotors to double the rate at which ammunition exits the system over that at which it is transferred out of the magazine. Rounds are further positively guided by rotor guide surfaces and auxiliary guiding surfaces during handling by the rotor systems between the magazine and gun feeding conveyor.

    摘要: A serving tray for use in a food rethermalizing cabinet. The tray is sectioned by a thermal divider and formed so that dishes of food placed therein can be selectively heated or cooled by separate air streams flowing from one end of the tray to the other. The thermal divider extends from one side of the tray to the other separating the tray interior into two channels. Inlet and outlet ports are provided at opposite ends of each channel. Tapered connectors on the sides of the tray are designed to mate with matching tapered sections in the cabinet such that when the tray is firmly seated in the cabinet, a fluid tight seal exists between the mating connector members. The inlet and outlet ports for each channel are precisely aligned with corresponding ports in the cabinet and the tray is supported thereby in the cabinet and cannot be inserted in reverse orientation.

    摘要: A leak detection apparatus for aircraft bleed air systems includes a supporting spacer positioned within the shroud and supported upon the bleed air duct of the aircraft. A sleeve supported on the exterior of the shroud further supports a plenum having generally cylindrical sensor tubes through which sensor wire sets pass. A director positioned within the shroud above the bleed air duct is coupled to a generally cylindrical accumulator which in turn is in communication with the plenum. Appropriate apertures are provided to vent and direct bleed air from the shroud interior to the sensor wire sets and thereafter vent outwardly into cooler ambient air. The sensor wire sets respond to the temperature of the bleed air leakage to trigger alarm apparatus.

    摘要: A composition of polyester microparticles containing bioactive polypeptide agents and methods for preparing the composition and administering bioactive agents. The composition comprises biocompatible, biodegradable microparticles having a polyester matrix and from about 5% to about 25% by weight of a biologically active, water-soluble polypeptide dispersed throughout the matrix, the polypeptide selected from the group consisting of growth hormone releasing factor, synthetic analogs of growth hormone releasing factor, pharmacologically active fragment thereof and somatogenin. The method for preparing the composition includes dissolving polyester in an organic solvent; suspending a biologically active agent in the polyester solution; emulsifying the suspension into an aqueous medium in which the agent is insoluble and evaporating the solvent from the emulsion to produce microparticles. The method for administering a bioactive agent to an organism involves suspending the microparticles in a suitable liquid and injecting the organism.
