The lens-interchangeable digital photographing apparatus includes a photographing circumstance analysis unit, a lens suitability determination unit for determining whether a lens installed in the digital photographing apparatus is suitable for a photographing circumstance, a lens search unit for searching for lenses suitable for a photographing circumstance, and a display unit. If the lens suitability determination unit determines that the installed lens is not suitable for the photographing circumstance, lenses suitable for the photographing circumstance analyzed by the photographing circumstance analysis unit from among lenses searched by the lens search unit are displayed on the display unit to be recommended.

A digital camera capable of variably setting a frame rate may include an imaging device which outputs a plurality of temporally continuous image frames when photographing a moving image. The digital camera may also include a digital signal processor that determines a frame rate with which the image frames are filed, wherein the digital signal processor variably determines the frame rate according to a motion speed of a subject in the frames. The digital camera may further include a recording medium in which the filed image frames are stored. Accordingly, as the frame rate is varied according to the motion of a subject, the motion of the subject can be smoothly realized in a high motion speed section from a reproduction perspective, and substantially repeated image frames can be removed in a low speed motion section. Thus, the size of moving image files can be reduced, saving memory resources.

A system for connecting a global positioning system (GPS) device to a digital image processing device and inserting position information into an image file created by the digital image processing device, and a method of operating the system are provided. The system comprises a digital image processing device for capturing an image, generating and storing a plurality of image files; and a GPS device for computing a position based on data received from a GPS satellite, wherein, the GPS device comprises a GPS information storage unit for storing inherent information an image file and position information of a position at which the image is captured when a predetermined image capture signal is received from the digital image processing device; and wherein the digital image processing device comprises a GPS information input controller for inserting position information of the position at which the image is captured into the image file.

In the method, the reproducing mode includes an index-reproducing mode in which a set number of index images are displayed in divided display regions in a sequence in which the index images are set. In addition, the index-reproducing mode includes an edited index-reproducing mode in which the index images are selectively displayed. Methods of printing an image and photo-printing systems using the methods are provided. The methods involve receiving the image from a data storage device and printing the image via a printer, the method including the operations of determining whether a Paper Full printing option in which no space is left on a printing material is selected; when the Paper Full printing option is selected, comparing a ratio of an image to be printed with a ratio of a currently set printing material; and when the ratios of the image and the printing material are different from each other, displaying a print area of the image to be printed on a display panel.The methods of printing the image and photo-printing systems using the methods provide users with an opportunity to check and re-set a print area prior to printing the image, thereby preventing an important part of the image from being cropped due to mismatch between ratios of the image to be printed and the printing material.
