摘要: A system comprises radio circuitry, an access point (AP) feature, and a station (STA) feature. The AP feature causes the radio circuitry to transmit data to a hardware device during a beacon interval. The AP feature is not used to receive data from the hardware device during the beacon interval except to receive data request signals. The STA feature causes the radio circuitry to receive data from the hardware device during the beacon interval. The STA feature is not used to transmit data to the hardware device during the beacon interval except to transmit data request signals. The radio circuitry is in a de-powered state during the beacon interval when the radio circuitry does not transmit or receive data or data request signals.

摘要: Systems and methods for media access control (MAC) layer bridging of a real communication device to a simulated network are described herein. Some illustrative embodiments include a communication network bridge that includes a processor that executes simulation software that implements a simulated network and further implements a simulated network interface that provides a communication path to the simulated communication network, and a real network interface that provides a communication path to a real communication network. A first media access control (MAC) layer message that conforms to a protocol associated with the real communication network is received by the real network interface from across the real communication network. The first MAC layer message is transformed by a first transformation operation into a second MAC layer message that is forwarded to a physical (PHY) layer of the simulated network interface.

摘要: Systems and methods for avoiding access point transmission rate fall-back mechanism having an avalanche effect when acknowledgements are not received for packets sent during co-existence of WLAN and other wireless network technologies. A receiver comprises at least two dissimilar network technology subsystems. In some embodiments, a transmitter transmits a handshake to the receiver prior to transmission of at least one data packet and does not reduce a transmission rate of future transmissions to the receiver if the transmitter does not receive a reply to the handshake. In other embodiments, the receiver is able to send an indicator to a transmitter requesting a protection mechanism be employed prior to transmission by the transmitter of at least one data packet. In further embodiments, the receiver is able to negotiate with the transmitter for the transmitter to employ a protection mechanism prior to transmission of at least one data packet to the receiver.

摘要: Embodiments provide systems and methods to optimize the time when to transmit a silencing frame, and hence, improve the overall network throughput and avoid access point transmission rate fall-back mechanism having an avalanche effect during coexistence of dissimilar wireless network technologies. A receiver comprises at least two dissimilar network technology subsystems, at least one subsystem of which is higher priority than at least another of the dissimilar subsystems. In some embodiments, a receiver is able to transmit a silencing frame during a predetermined transmission window within a lower priority technology network interval. In other embodiments, a receiver calculates a predetermined transmission window, the predetermined transmission window to occur within a lower priority technology network interval, and transmits a silencing frame during the predetermined transmission window. In further embodiments, a receiver is able to calculate a transmission window to occur during a lower priority technology network interval, and transmit a silencing frame during the calculated transmission window.

摘要: A device comprising transceiver logic and control logic coupled to the transceiver logic. The control logic is adapted to use the transceiver logic to broadcast a signal comprising either a Request-to-Send (RTS) signal or a Clear-to-Send-to-Self (CTS2S) signal to a plurality of other devices. The signal is adapted to cause the plurality of other devices to refrain from transmitting data. After at least some of the plurality of other devices have received the signal, the transceiver logic transmits at least part of another signal using beamforming techniques.

摘要: A method that comprises receiving, by an access point (AP), an interval value from a station (STA). The interval value corresponds to a frequency with which the STA listens to the AP. The method also comprises commanding, by the AP, the STA to refrain from transmitting data to the AP until a period expires. The commanding comprises the AP setting a duration of the period to correspond to the interval value. The method further comprises transferring, by the AP, data to the STA after the period expires.

摘要: Systems and methods for reduction of handover latencies in wireless communication systems are described herein. Some illustrative embodiments include a wireless mobile communication device that includes a wireless transceiver including a transmitter configured to transmit a first signal synchronized for reception by a first cellular node, and processing logic that couples to the wireless transceiver. Before the wireless transceiver receives a handover command the processing logic causes the transmitter to transmit a second signal for reception by a second cellular node to request allocation of an upload resource for communication with the second cellular node as part of an impending handover.

摘要: A device comprising processing logic and transceiver logic coupled to the processing logic. The data is transmitted and received on at least one of a first channel and a second channel. The processing logic determines whether the first channel has been idle for at least a predetermined length of time and determines whether the second channel has been idle for at least another predetermined length of time. Based on these determinations, the transceiver logic transmits data to another device on one or both of the first and second channels.

摘要: A system for communicating protocol layer processing information is disclosed herein. A transmitter includes a protocol layer header generator that generators a header for a first protocol data unit. The header generator provides a first header comprising a first sequence number field that determines the order in which a receiving entity present the first data unit to higher protocol layer. The sequence number field varies in length. A receiver includes a protocol layer header parser that parses a header of a first protocol data unit. The header parser parses a first header comprising a first sequence number field that determines the order in which the first data unit is presented to a higher protocol layer. The sequence number field varies in length.
