    摘要: The side surface of the light guide plate includes an incident surface which faces the light source unit in an opposed manner, and a fixing surface which is directed in the left-and-right direction orthogonal to the top-and-bottom direction which is the direction along which the light source unit and the incident surface each other in an opposed manner. An engaging portion which is engageable with a lower frame is formed on the fixing surface or an edge portion which forms the fixing surface. The engaging portion is configured to allow a change of a distance between the incident surface and the lower frame due to expansion or shrinkage of the light guide plate while restricting the movement of the light guide plate in the top-and-bottom direction.

To increase a divergence angle of light radiation, the portion of the high refractive index transparent material member which covers an upper surface of the light-emitting diode is structured so as to satisfy a relation H>(L/2)/tan { sin−1(n1/n2)}, where H represents a thickness of the high refractive index transparent material member measured at the central portion of the upper surface of the light-emitting diode, L represents the length of one side of the upper surface of the light-emitting diode, n1 represents the refractive index of the high refractive index transparent material member and n2 represents the refractive index of the low refractive index transparent material member.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device includes: a light guide plate having an emission surface emitting light to a liquid crystal panel and a plurality of side surfaces; and a plurality of light sources LEDPKG inputting light to the light guide plate from at least one side surface. The light guide plate is divided into a plurality of parts extending from the light inputted one side surface to an opposite side surface and the plurality of parts include at least one first part and at least one second part. The first part and the second part are adjacent to each other, and two-dimensionally overlap with the display area, respectively. At least the second part has a shape for emitting the light from an emission surface, and a sectional shape in the extending direction of the first part is greater than that of the second part.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device has a thin structure with a backlight device appropriate for illuminating a liquid crystal panel where there is no area in band form where the brightness is inconsistent. The size of the diffusion plate that forms the optical sheet of the backlight device is made smaller than the opening for illumination in the diffusion region, and the diffusion plate is not provided in the vicinity of the end portions of the opening for illumination in the configuration. In this configuration, the reflection properties are different in the vicinity of the end portions and as the center portion of the opening for illumination, and the brightness increases in the vicinity of the end portions of the backlight device, so that an area in band form where the brightness is inconsistent can be prevented from being created in the end portions of the display device.
