摘要: A maintenance and management system for tracheal tube in tracheal intubation makes it easier or steadier to identify endotracheal tube placement in the airway, check a tracheal stenosis due to sputum clogging, confirm a breakaway of the tube out of the airway, store and monitor measured data, diagnose automatically the complications, and obtain data for reproducing function of sound in a breath circuit. A ventilator tube is connected to the endotracheal tube and provided therein with a microphone to sense a breath sound transmitted via the endotracheal tube and a pressure sensing element to measure a circuit pressure in the ventilator circuit for the endotracheal tube. The data derived from the sensing elements is processed in a personal computer to be used to measure whether the breath sound and the circuit pressure are within a range of a prescribed value.

摘要: A garment for electrically stimulating muscles is provided to be used for, e.g., rehabilitation or exercise whereby an electrode can be conveniently provided at such a position as allowing the electrode to stimulate the nerve-muscular junction of a muscle to be moved in toning up the muscle through electrical stimulation on the muscle by taking advantage of the muscular contraction caused by electrically stimulating the muscle. A garment for electrically stimulating muscles comprises a garment body, a required number of openings which are provided in the garment body in such a manner that each opening is located at the nerve-muscular junction or in the vicinity of the nerve-muscular junction of a muscle to be moved in the case where a wearer wears the garment body, and electrodes provided at the respective openings in such a manner that each electrode located on the skin surface at the nerve-muscular junction or in the vicinity of the nerve-muscular junction of a muscle in the case where a wearer wears the garment body.

摘要: An improved muscle strengthening apparatus is disclosed which causes “eccentric contraction” of an antagonist muscle of a limb through electrical stimulation so as to apply so-called “closed-kinetic-chain exercises” for the muscles involved to thereby increase the strength thereof. Flexing or extending motion of a knee joint is sensed by a sensor to indicate contraction of the agonist muscle. Upon contraction of the agonist muscle, electrodes placed over the antagonist muscle are energized to cause the eccentric contraction thereof. The invention provides a portable home gymnasium in that it is relatively small, light-weight, cost effective and easy to transport and also relatively simple in construction.
