    摘要: A garment for electrically stimulating muscles is provided to be used for, e.g., rehabilitation or exercise whereby an electrode can be conveniently provided at such a position as allowing the electrode to stimulate the nerve-muscular junction of a muscle to be moved in toning up the muscle through electrical stimulation on the muscle by taking advantage of the muscular contraction caused by electrically stimulating the muscle. A garment for electrically stimulating muscles comprises a garment body, a required number of openings which are provided in the garment body in such a manner that each opening is located at the nerve-muscular junction or in the vicinity of the nerve-muscular junction of a muscle to be moved in the case where a wearer wears the garment body, and electrodes provided at the respective openings in such a manner that each electrode located on the skin surface at the nerve-muscular junction or in the vicinity of the nerve-muscular junction of a muscle in the case where a wearer wears the garment body.

    摘要: A hoisting machine is interposed between a wall of a hoistway and a car when viewed in a horizontally-projected perspective, and a drive sheave is located opposite the wall of the hoistway. Vibration prevention members are located between the hoisting machine and a mount member attached to fixing members in the hoistway. The vibration prevention members are located at surfaces of upper and lower portions of the mount member facing the hoisting machine, supporting the hoisting machine on the mount member from underside. As a result, vibration control of the hoisting machine can be readily achieved, and the torque acting on the hoisting machine is supported by horizontal rigidity of the vibration prevention member. Consequently, the hoisting machine can be attached to the mount member without failure. Vibration and noise, which would arise during operation of an elevator in a hoistway of a building, is reduced, thereby making the environment of the elevator silent.

    摘要: A pipe joint comprises a pair of tubular joint members, an annular gasket interposed between abutting end faces of the joint members, and a nut for joining the joint members. A seal projection is formed on the abutting end face of each joint member at a position radially outward of an inner periphery of the end face. When an end of the seal projection is brought into contact with an end face of the gasket by tightening the nut, a clearance is formed between an outer flat portion of the abutting end face of each joint member and the gasket end face opposed thereto. The clearance is greater than a clearance between an inner flat portion of the abutting end face of each joint member and the gasket end face opposed thereto, and is eliminated when the nut is completely tightened up.
