摘要： It is the object of the invention to provide a compact and highly stable head-mount image display apparatus capable of always transmitting voice information of an optimal volume, irrespective of the positional relationship between the head and the ear of an observer, which is related to the shape and/or size of the head. To attain the object, speakers incorporated in the apparatus of the invention can be moved to desired positions in accordance with changes in the positional relationship between the head and the ears of observers. Further, the apparatus of the invention can be folded to reduce the area the apparatus occupies.

摘要： An optical sheet to be used as a screen on which an image is projected from an image projector is provided. The optical sheet is produced by joining a plurality of optical sheet members with end surfaces thereof meeting each other as joint surfaces. The optical sheet members are realized with lenticular lens sheets. Each lenticular lens sheet has lenses, which are elongated in a second direction, juxtaposed in a first direction orthogonal to the second direction. The optical properties of the optical sheet members that are slightly undulated vary cyclically in the first direction. And the optical sheet members to be joined are a selected pair of optical sheet members whose undulations are substantially identical to each other or symmetrical to each other with respect to the joint surfaces.

摘要： An image forming system is provided which includes an optical sheet and an image projector. The optical sheet is constructed by joining a plurality of sheet members with adjoining sheet members meeting to form a joint line. The image projector produces an image and projects the image to the optical sheet through a projection optical system. The relative positional relationship between the image projector and optical sheet is such that the optical axis of the projection optical system included in the image projector perpendicularly intersects the joint line in the optical sheet. 摘要： The present invention provides a polarization switching liquid crystal element 1 having TN liquid crystal 7 retained between two transparent substrates 2a and 2b for transmitting at least visible polarized light with the polarized light transmission axis selectively rotated by 90 degrees when a voltage is selectively applied to the TN liquid crystal 7, wherein a phase difference u of said TN liquid crystal 7 is defined by the following equation: u=2×Δn×d/λ, where Δn is the refractive index anisotropy of said TN liquid crystal 7, d is the thickness of said TN liquid crystal 7, and λ is the wavelength of said polarized light, and a transmittance T of said polarization switching liquid crystal element measured with polarization plates on the incident and outgoing sides is defined by the following equation: T=(½)×sin2{π(1+u2)1/2/2}/(1+u2), and wherein the phase difference u includes a value 1.7 and the transmittance T is 0.1 or lower when the λ ranges from 400 nm to 700 nm. Then, a polarization switching liquid crystal element having a high response speed and reduced wavelength-dependency can be realized using inexpensive and highly durable TN liquid crystal without increasing parts cost.
