A hard tempered aluminum alloy sheet useful for deep drawing is prepared by a process comprising the steps of hot rolling an ingot of aluminum alloy consisting essentially of 4.0 to 6.0 Mg wt. %, at least one component selected from the group consisting of 0.1 to 0.7 wt. % Mn, 0.01 to 0.05 wt. % Zr, 0.005 to 0.12 wt. % V and up to 0.05 wt. % Ti and the balance aluminum to a sheet not more than 2.5 mm thick, intermediate annealing the hot rolled alloy and final cold rolling the annealed alloy to effect a rolling reduction of less than 85%.In case the finishing temperature of the hot rolling is adjusted to a temperature of 300.degree. to 350.degree. C., the above intermediate annealing can be omitted.

The present invention relates to a cold-rolled aluminum-alloy sheet having a high strength and a good formability required for producing a DI can. The sheet according to the present invention contains 0.1-2.0% Mn, 0.1-2.0% Mg, and 0.1 to 0.5% Si, has a thickness of 0.4 mm or less. The present invention is characterized by holding a sheet to a temperature of from 80.degree. to 150.degree. C., when it is already heat treated at 400.degree.-580.degree. C. and it is not yet finally cold-rolled. The sheet according to present invention is finally cold-rolled and has a fine grain size.

A high strength, aluminum alloy sheet having good formability is disclosed which is particularly suitable for forming can-body parts and can-end parts, which sheet has received a final cold rolling reduction of at least 50% and consists essentially of Mn 0.30 to 1.50 wt. %, Mg 0.50 to 2.00 wt. %, preferably 0.50 to 1.25 wt. %, Si 0.52 to 1.00 wt. % and the balance being Al and incidental impurities. If required, the aluminum alloy forming sheet may also, in addition to the above elements, contain at least one component selected from the group consisting of Fe, Cu, Cr, Zn and Ti in specified ranges.The alloy sheet was produced by a specially prescribed production method.

An aircraft stringer material having high strength, small grain size, good resistance to stress corrosion cracking and a very high degree of workability is produced from an aluminum base alloy consisting essentially of 5.1 to 8.1 wt. % Zn, 1.8 to 3.4 wt. % Mg, 1.2 to 2.6 wt. % Cu, up to 0.20 wt. % Ti and at least one of 0.18 to 0.35 wt. % Cr and 0.05 to 0.25 wt. % Zr, the balance being aluminum and impurities, by a production method characterized by a special annealing step including rapid heating to a temperature of 320.degree. to 500.degree. C. at a heating rate exceeding 11.degree. C./min.Further, a corrosion-resistant stringer material is produced in a manner very similar to the above production method, using the above aluminum alloy as a core and AA7072 alloy as cladding.

The adhesive composition can strongly bond various components to polypropylene used for a speaker frame, etc. unlike conventional synthetic chloroprene rubber adhesives which have insufficient adhesion strength in this application.
