摘要: A drying apparatus includes a compartment for containing objects to be dried, a closed-loop air pathway and a regeneration heat exchanger. The closed-loop air pathway includes a cooling element and a heating element, and is configured to extract from the compartment air that includes moisture in the form of vapor, to evacuate heat energy from the extracted air to an external fluid flow by cooling using the cooling element so as to remove at least some of the moisture from the air, to reheat the air using the heating element, and to re-introduce the reheated air into the compartment. The regeneration heat exchanger is inserted in the closed-loop air pathway and is configured to transfer heat from the air extracted from the compartment to the air exiting the cooling element in the closed-loop air pathway.

The heat exchanger can be used to cool oil in one embodiment which is used in a compression process. The heat exchanger can be a bar-and-plate type heat exchanger having a number of external fins, internal fins, parting sheets, and header bars. The external fins can include louvers formed therein. An arrangement of multiple unrelated components can be provided that improves pressure loss and reduces weight.

摘要: Plate assemblies configured for use in heat exchangers are provided. The plate assemblies may include one or more plates defining an inlet end, an outlet end, and flow channels configured to receive a flow of fluid from the inlet end and direct the fluid to the outlet end. The flow channels may be defined by protrusions, grooves, and/or orifices defined in flow plates, and spacer plates may separate the plate assemblies from one another. The flow channels may be interconnected such that for each of a plurality of intermediate positions along the flow channels, a plurality of flow paths are defined. Thus, in an instance in which a blockage occurs in one of the flow channels, flow may be prevented through only a portion of the flow channel.

摘要: A heat exchanger includes a casing having a first inlet, a first outlet, a second inlet, and a second outlet, and a plate assembly positioned between the first inlet and the first outlet and between the second inlet and the second outlet and at least partially in the casing, the plate assembly is being configured to transfer heat between a first fluid and a second fluid. The heat exchanger also includes a first plenum connecting a first side of the plate assembly and configured to direct the first fluid from first inlet to the plate assembly, and a second plenum connecting a second side of the plate assembly and configured to direct the first fluid from the plate assembly to the first outlet. An exterior of the second plenum is in contact with the second fluid, and the second plenum is configured to resiliently deflect in response to thermal expansion.

摘要: Two or more cores (2a, 2b) in each of which two more types of passage layers through which two or more fluids flow are layered alternately are welded together. The entire bottom portions of the cores (2a, 2b) are covered with a lower header tank (3), thereby making the fluids flow into the cores (2a, 2b). A dummy layer (14) through which none of the fluids flow is provided beside a weld side face of each core (2a, 2b). A weld spacer (18) is welded to the entire peripheral edge of a side plate (16) of the dummy layer (14). A through-hole (16a) for draining water in the dummy layer (14) is made near the lower end of the side plate of the dummy layer (14). Further, a liquid drain hole (20) through which water is drained is made at a lower corner of the weld spacer (18).

摘要: Disclosed is a method for producing a permanently joined plate heat exchanger comprising a plurality of metal heat exchanger plates having a solidus temperature above 1100° C., provided beside each other and forming a plate package with first plate interspaces for a first medium and second plate interspaces for a second medium, wherein the first and second plate interspaces are provided in an alternating order in the plate package, wherein each heat exchanger plate comprises a heat transfer area and an edge area comprising bent edges which extend around the heat transfer area, wherein a first surface of the plates forms a convex shape and a second surface of the plates forms a concave shape, wherein the heat transfer area comprises a corrugation of elevations and depressions, wherein said corrugation of the plates and the bent edges are provided by pressing the plates. Also disclosed is a plate heat exchanger produced by the method.

摘要: A method and apparatus for the liquefaction of natural gas or conversion of other gases to liquids that uses nanosecond or femtosecond pulse laser machined structures on surfaces of heat exchangers. The heat exchanger has metal plate and plate fin surfaces with increased surface area to volume ratio from the nanosecond or femtosecond pulse laser machined structures on its surfaces. Heat transfer and cooling are accelerated by exposing the gas to nanosecond or femtosecond pulse laser nanomachining structures. Fluid refrigerant flows through the structures in the heat exchanger metal plate and plate fins, and exchanges heat with refrigerant flowing through the structures.

摘要: An integrated circuit chip cooling device includes a network of micropipes. A first pipe portion and a second pipe portion of the network are connected by at least one valve. The valve is formed of a bilayer strip. In response to change in temperature, the shape of the bilayer strip changes to move the valve from a substantially closed position to an open position. In one configuration, the change is irreversible. In another configuration, the change is reversible in response to an opposite change in temperature.
