Abstract: An aluminum alloy brazing sheet is formed of a brazing material, an intermediate material, a core material, and a brazing material. The intermediate material contains Mg of 0.40 to 6.00 mass %, and has total of contents of Mn, Cr, and Zr being 0.10 mass % or more. The core material contains Mg of 0.20 to 2.00 mass % and one or two or more of Mn of 1.80 mass % or less, Si of 1.50 mass % or less, Fe of 1.00 mass % or less, Cu of 1.20 mass % or less, Ti of 0.30 mass % or less, Zr of 0.30 mass % or less, and Cr of 0.30 mass % or less. Each of the core material and the intermediate material has a grain size of 20 to 300 μm, and each of the brazing materials contain Si of 4.00 to 13.00 mass %.

The method includes receiving a desired alloy composition for the object, depositing a plurality of foils in a stack to form the object, applying heat to the stack at a first temperature to bond the plurality of foils to each other, and applying heat to the stack at a second temperature to homogenize the composition of the stack. The homogenized stack has the desired alloy composition.

Abstract: The invention concerns an extruded, rolled and/or forged aluminum-based alloy product having a thickness of at least 25 mm comprising (in weight %): Zn 6.70-7.40; Mg 1.50-1.80; Cu 2.20-2.60, with a Cu to Mg ratio of at least 1.30; Zr 0.04-0.14; Mn 0-0.5; Ti 0-0.15; V 0-0.15; Cr 0-0.25; Fe 0-0.15; Si 0-0.15; impurities ≤0.05 each and ≤0.15 total. The invention also concerns a method of making such a product. Products according to the invention are particularly advantageous because they exhibit simultaneously a low sensitivity to environmentally assisted cracking under conditions of high stress and humid environment, high strength and high toughness properties.

Abstract: An aluminum alloy brazing sheet used for brazing in an inert gas atmosphere without using flux includes a core material of aluminum or aluminum alloy, and a brazing material of aluminum alloy including Si of 4.0 mass % to 13.0 mass % and cladding one side surface or both side surfaces of the core material. One or both of the core material and the brazing material includes any one or two or more types of X atoms (X is Mg, Li, Be, Ca, Ce, La, Y, and Zr). The aluminum alloy brazing sheet is a brazing sheet in which oxide particles including the X atoms and having a volume change ratio of 0.99 or lower with respect to an oxide film before brazing heating are formed on a surface thereof, by brazing heating.

Abstract: An aluminum alloy material as one aspect of the present disclosure has a chemical composition including: Zn: more than 6.5% (mass %, same applies hereafter) and 8.5% or less; Mg: 0.5% or more and 1.5% or less; Cu: 0.10% or less; Fe: 0.30% or less; Si: 0.30% or less; Mn: less than 0.05%; Cr: less than 0.05%; Zr: 0.05% or more and 0.10% or less; and Ti: 0.001% or more and 0.05% or less, a balance including Al and inevitable impurities. In the aluminum alloy material, a mass ratio of Zn to Mg (Zn/Mg) is 5 or more and 16 or less, and a metallographic structure includes an equigranular recrystallized structure.
