    摘要: The direction-of arrival estimation by means of a subspace-based algorithm such as MUSIC or ESPRIT is formed by using reduced-bandwidth signals as compared with communication signal waves. The narrower-bandwidth signals is obtained by each mobile telephone transmitting a modulated version of a lower-transmission rate test signal as well as a communication signal wave or by band-pass filtering the received communication signal waves in a base station. A direction-of-arrival estimation is formed by using a reduced number of signals for the direction-of arrival estimation. The number of direction-of-arrival estimating signals is reduced by discarding a part of the received signals, by multiplexing the received signals by the sub-array and forming a direction-of arrival estimation for each sub-array, or by using an additional array antenna having a reduced number of elements.

    摘要: Array elements 111-1 to 111-n of array antenna 101 are arranged at respective different heights from a ground so as not to overlap to each other in a vertical direction. Received frequency conversion section 102 converts a radio frequency signal received at each of the array elements 111-1 to 111-n of array antenna 101 into an intermediate frequency signal or baseband signal. A/D conversion section 103 converts an analog signal output from received frequency conversion section 102 into a digital signal using a proper sampling frequency. Direction estimating section 105 estimates directions of an arrival radio signal in a horizontal plane and vertical plane using received digital signals obtained in A/D conversion section 103. It is thereby possible to suppress increases in the number of array elements and computation amount, and to improve estimation accuracy in the vertical direction and resolution at the time a plurality of signals arrive.

    摘要: An A/D converter converts the signal received by an array antenna and frequency-converted to a digital signal by a frequency converter. A correlation detector uses the chip rate as a cycle frequency and calculates a cyclic correlation matrix of spread spectrum signals stored in data storage. A cycle frequency detector detects the cycle frequency of an interference signal output from A/D converter. A correlation detector uses the detection result of the cycle frequency detector as a cycle frequency and calculates a cyclic correlation matrix of the signal, which becomes an interference signal, using the signal output from A/D converter. A direction of arrival is estimated, using the cyclic correlation matrices calculated by correlation detector and the correlation detector calculates the respective eigenvalues and eigenvectors and estimates the directions of arrival of a spread spectrum signal and a signal, which becomes an interference signal.
