Abstract:
An electrical cable termination connector (10) includes a front shell (20), a printed circuit board (PCB) (30), a terminal insert (40), a back shell (50), a spacer (60), latches (72), and a boot (70). The PCB has a first edge (34) and a second edge (36) positioned at right angles to each other. First solder pads (33) along the first edge are electrically connected to corresponding second solder pads (35) along the second edge by traces (37) in the PCB. The PCB attaches to a rear of the front shell and terminals in the terminal insert electrically connect to the first solder pads. Stiff, shielded wires (80) of a cable (90) are fixed in the spacer, and conductors (81) of the wires are attached to the second solder pads. This design enables a 90 degree connection between a cable and a mating connector, without sharp bending of the shielded cable.
Abstract:
An electrical cable (1) adapted for terminating with an electrical connector (2) includes a pair of cable subassemblies (10). Each cable subassembly has two signal wires (101) and a metal braid (102) wraps round the two signal wires. Each signal wire includes a signal conductor (103) and an insulating layer (104) outside. An outer jacket (12) surrounds the two cable subassemblies. A grounding sleeve (11) includes two recess portions (110) for receiving exposed front portions of the respective cable subassemblies press-fitted therein. Three grounding pins (113) project from the grounding sleeve at intervals for being soldered to corresponding grounding terminals (21, 22, 23) of the electrical connector.
Abstract:
A cable assembly (1) includes an insulative housing (10) with a number of passageways (121, 122), a number of terminals (50) received in the passageways of the insulative housing, an alignment plate (20) assembled on the rear end of the insulative housing, a number of cable (40) with a plurality of conductors (41, 42) and a wire spacer (30). The alignment plate includes a pair of positioning posts (211) at the opposite ends thereof. The wire spacer of dielectric material has a plurality of holes (32) defined therthrough and extending from one side to an opposite side thereof, each hole is for extension of one conductor of the plurality of cable therethrough, thereby facilitating organization of the wires for easing connection of each wire to the terminal, the wire spacer further comprises a pair of positioning holes (31) at opposite ends thereof, said positioning posts being received in the positioning holes of the alignment.
