Abstract:
In the construction of a building in which a basement is prefabricated on the ground and then lowered into the ground by excavating soil below the basement, a process for lowering the basement comprises: driving corrugated steel plates into the ground around a region in which the basement is to be installed; applying an adhesive on a surface of the basement adjacent to the steel plates; applying a lubricant on a surface of the steel plates adjacent to the surface of the basement; forming in-situ a flexible and resilient material in a space between the surfaces of the basement and the steel plates, the material serving as a guide member which is bonded securely to the basement; excavating soil below the basement; and causing the basement to descend into the ground.
Abstract:
A process for forming a concrete wall having a projecting portion such as those formed at a door, windows or the like, including installing two spaced apart opposite form boards which confine a cavity for receiving concrete, one of which has a groove for forming the projecting portion, lining the wall segments with a cushion member which is made of a flexible and compressible material, pouring concrete into the cavity, and moving simultaneously the form board from the formed concrete in a direction similar to the direction of the projecting portion utilizing a hydraulic drive mechanism.
Abstract:
A forming device includes two opposite form boards, an upper fastening unit mounted on the first and second top ends of the form boards, an upper hydraulic drive unit cooperably connected to the fastening unit and a lower hydraulic drive unit mounted on the bottom end of the first or second form board. The fastening unit includes a slide device to permit the first and second form boards to move away from one another or to approach one another. The slide device includes a slide bar fixed to the first or second top end of the form board, and a support bar fixed to the second or first top side. An upper hydraulic drive unit is cooperably connected to the slide bar and the support bar. A lower hydraulic drive unit is mounted on the bottom end of the first or second form board to move the form board relative to the formed concrete. The form boards can be stripped from a formed wall in a proper direction without causing the boards to swing and possibly damage the projecting portions of the formed wall.
Abstract:
An apparatus for supporting an inner mold panel of a steel form during the process of setting up the steel-form mold panels to form a wall. The supporting apparatus includes a plurality of supporting members provided on the floor on which the inner steel-form mold panels are placed, and a plurality of jack devices each resting against one of the supporting members and pressing against the inner steel-form mold panel. The supporting member preferably has a rectangular body with a plurality of holding pins which may be embedded in the floor. The supporting member may also have a plurality of protrusions formed thereon with screws passing through a screw bore that is formed in each protrusion thereof. With the supporting apparatus of the invention, the inner steel-form mold panels will not be deformed during the process of pouring the concrete. It will therefore not be necessary to provide spacers between the inner and outer steel-form mold panels nor will it be necessary to drill holes in the surfaces of the steel-form mold panels.
Abstract:
A method for lowering a basement structure includes forming several upright pile holes in the ground, providing each of the pile holes with a pile, providing several vertical guide holes and an excavation passage which are formed through the basement structure in such a manner that the guide holes are aligned with the pile holes, equipping each of the guide holes with an impelling device which is coupled with one of the piles, excavating soil below the basement structure, and activating the impelling devices to lower the basement structure into the ground in such a manner that the piles extend through the guide holes. Several vertical steel rods are embedded in each of the piles. Each of the impelling devices includes an upright cylinder body fixed on the top end of the basement structure, a piston rod extending through the cylinder body, and a piston carried on the piston rod. An internally threaded engaging member is engaged with the externally threaded lower portion of the piston rod. Several coupling bar units interconnect securely the engaging member and the upper ends of the steel rods. Each of the coupling bar units includes several bar sections arranged in a line and several collars detachably interconnecting the bar sections. A rotary lever unit is secured to the piston rod.
Abstract:
A modular form includes form plates in edge-to-edge contiguity, fasteners provided along adjacent longitudinal sides of the plates to fasten releaseably the form plates, reinforcement channel pieces attached detachably to the form plates along the transverse sides thereof, and trussed backing members extending longitudinally between the channel pieces, each of the trussed backing members having two opposite joint ends, the joint ends being detachably connected to the channel pieces.
Abstract:
A molding device includes at least two comonent form boards 12,13 and a wedge-shaped spacer board 14 between them. An operating mechanism is associated with the form boards and the spacer, and moves them relative to one another. The operating mechanism includes at least one rack member 18, and at least one lever 26 connected with a pawl which swings about an axis eccentric with the axis of the lever. The pawl 28 engages with the rack and moves the rack forward when the lever is operated.
Abstract:
The method includes a step of compressing a portion of a cylindrical stock into a third section of a cavity of a die. The cavity of the die includes a first section having a polygonal internal surface, a second section being narrower than the first section and having a first circle in cross section with a diameter substantially equal to the diameter of the stock which is fed in the second section and a third section between the first and second section. The third section has a second circle in cross section with a diameter gradually decreasing from the first section towards the second section.
Abstract:
An improved method of constructing a basement piling is disclosed. The piling of an improved pile, which consists of a plurality of pile units connected with each other, is completed by first driving a pile unit into the construction site of the building, then connecting other pile units to the previously driven pile unit, and further driving the connected pile units into the construction site. The improved method of constructing a basement of a building on a construction site comprises a first step of pre-forming a basement with seat members formed thereon, a second step of providing a plurality of hydraulic devices associated with the seat members, a third step of providing a plurality of piles onto the hydraulic devices and a fourth step of manipulating the plurality of hydraulic devices to allow descent of the pre-formed basement into the construction site.
