摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a highly reliable display device by preventing an adhesive layer from being drawn to the inside at the time of vacuum pumping and by securing a sufficient adhesive strength. A crystalline layer CRZ is formed in the surface of an adhesive layer FT between the respective contact surfaces of a first glass substrate SUB1 and a sealing frame FR, as well as of a second glass substrate SUB2 and the sealing frame FR.

摘要: It is an object of the present invention to provide a spacer which has an adequate Young's modulus for a spacer used in an image display panel and allows free adjustment of an electric resistance value, and an image display panel using the spacer. The spacer SPC holds a gap between a back panel PNL1 including a signal line CL, a scanning line GL, and an electronic source ELS provided for the main surface of a back substrate SUB1, and a front panel PNL2 including a fluorescent material PH, a black matrix BM, and an anode AD provided for the main surface of a front substrate SUB2. The spacer comprises phosphate glass including the same transition metal element with different valences. For electrical conduction, the included same transition metal element with different valences allows the use of hopping conduction between transition metal atoms with different valences to perform adjustment of electric resistance relatively easily. The transition metal element is at least one of vanadium (V), tungsten (W), molybdenum (Mo), niobium (Nb), and iron (Fe).

摘要: It is an object to provide an electric conductive, Pb-free bonding material for securing spacers for display panels of display devices. The electric conductive bonding material as the first aspect of the present invention contains a V2O5-based glass as a main component, and particles of a metal selected from the group consisting of Pt, Pd, Cr, Ni, Al, Si, Zn, Au and Fe—Ni alloy, or of one or more species of electric conductive ceramics which can be selected from the group consisting of TiC, SiC, WC, ZnO, Fe2O3, FeO, Fe3O4, AgV7O18 and Ag2V4O11 at 10 to 50% by volume. The electric conductive bonding material as the second aspect of the present invention contains V2O5 at 55 to 75%, P2O5 at 15 to 30%, BaO at 0 to 25% Sb2O3 at 0 to 15% (total content of BaO and Sb2O3 adjusted at 5% or more), and GeO2 at 5 to 20% or Ag2O at 3 to 10%, all percentages by mass.

摘要: A spacer according to the present invention for use in a flat panel display, which includes a cathode substrate with a cold cathode electron emitting device formed thereon, an anode substrate with a phosphor formed thereon, and a spacer disposed between the cathode and anode substrates, comprises a base made of a conductive glass, and a conductive crystallized glass layer on a surface of the base. The spacer is more excellent in antistatic characteristics than conventional spacers having a conducting layer on the surface of an insulating glass base. A flat panel display according to the present invention using the spacers permits a higher voltage to be applied, thus increasing image quality.

摘要: A spacer of the present invention for use in an image display device, which has the spacer between a cathode substrate with a cold cathode electron emitting device formed thereon and an anode substrate with a phosphor formed thereon, comprises a phosphate glass having transition metal oxides as its main components, and a higher phosphate concentration layer at the spacer surface. A thickness of the higher phosphate concentration layer is suppressed to 0.5 μm or less. More preferably, the spacer has a water resistant conductive passivation layer formed on its surface. This suppresses the thickness of the higher phosphate concentration layer to a thinner level, so that the spacer is less likely to be charged thus reducing the deflection amount of electron beam. An image display device of the present invention using above spacer can apply a higher voltage to the anode substrate, thus increasing the image quality.

摘要: A sealing glass of a low melting point glass composition which is a phosphate glass that contains transition metal wherein the glass contains 15 to 35% of BaO and Sb2O3 (in total) and the ratio by weight of BaO to Sb2O3 or Sb2O3 to BaO is 0.3 or less. Particularly the transition metal is vanadium and the glass contains V2O5 of 45 to 60 wt % as vanadium oxide and P2O5 of 15 to 30 wt % as phosphorus oxide. The bonding material is a mixture of a filler and a vanadate-phosphate glass that contains V2O5 as the main ingredient and the glass contains V2O5 of 45 to 60%, P2O5 of 20 to 30%, BaO of 5 to 15%, TeO2 of 0 to 10%, Sb2O3 of 5 to 10%, and WO3 of 0 to 5%. The particle size of the filler is in the range of 1 to 150 μm and the ratio of filler is 80% by volume or less of the adhesive glass.
