Abstract: A glass double-walled beverage container, having an inner body sidewall lower end portion in fluid-tight engagement with an inner body end wall to define an interior beverage cavity, an outer body sidewall lower end portion in fluid-tight engagement with an outer body end wall, the outer body sidewall extending fully about the inner body sidewall, an inner body sidewall upper end portion and an outer body sidewall upper end portion being rigidly connected together and in fluid-tight engagement, the inner body end wall being positioned above and spaced apart from the outer body end wall to provide an interior space therebetween, and a non-glass adhesive material positioned in the interior space adhered to both the inner and outer body end walls. Abstract: A quartz glass plate has a quartz glass plate body and a quartz glass member adhered to the quartz glass plate body through an adhesive layer, where the adhesive layer contains silica, and a sum of concentrations of Li, Na, and K ions, being alkali metal ions and Ca ions, being alkaline earth metal ions contained in the adhesive layer is 10 ppm by mass or less. Consequently, a step with a uniform thickness can be formed, and a quartz glass plate is not easily damaged by irradiation with a light containing an ultraviolet ray.

Abstract: Embodiments of a curved vehicle display including a display module having a display surface, a curved glass substrate disposed on the display surface having a first major surface, a second major surface having a second surface area, and a thickness in a range from 0.05 mm to 2 mm, wherein the second major surface comprises a first radius of curvature of 200 mm or greater, wherein, when the display module emits a light, the light transmitted through the glass substrate has a substantially uniform color along 75% or more of the second surface area, when viewed at a viewing angle at a distance of 0.5 meters from the second surface. Methods of forming a curved vehicle display are also disclosed.

Abstract: A carrier substrate to be used, when manufacturing a member for an electronic device on a surface of a substrate, by being bonded to the substrate, includes at least a first glass substrate. The first glass substrate has a compaction described below of 80 ppm or less. Compaction is a shrinkage in a case of subjecting the first glass substrate to a temperature raising from a room temperature at 100° C./hour and to a heat treatment at 600° C. for 80 minutes, and then to a cooling to the room temperature at 100° C./hour.

Abstract: A stress-engineered frangible structure includes multiple discrete glass members interconnected by inter-structure bonds to form a complex structural shape. Each glass member includes strengthened (i.e., by way of stress-engineering) glass material portions that are configured to transmit propagating fracture forces throughout the glass member. Each inter-structure bond includes a bonding member (e.g., glass-frit or adhesive) connected to weaker (e.g., untreated, unstrengthened, etched, or thinner) glass member region(s) disposed on one or both interconnected glass members that function to reliably transfer propagating fracture forces from one glass member to other glass member. An optional trigger mechanism generates an initial fracture force in a first (most-upstream) glass member, and the resulting propagating fracture forces are transferred by way of inter-structure bonds to all downstream glass members. One-way crack propagation is achieved by providing a weaker member region only on the downstream side of each inter-structure bond.

Abstract: A vacuum insulated glass unit includes a first and a second glass pane and a pane bonding layer. The first and second glass panes each include a vacuum chamber side opposite an outer side. The vacuum chamber side of the first glass pane includes an etched interior surface, a glass pane periphery having a periphery surface, and a plurality of glass spacers each having an end surface. The pane bonding layer is positioned between and engaged with the periphery surface of the glass pane periphery of the first glass pane and the second glass pane and couples the first glass pane to the second glass pane. Each end surface of the plurality of glass spacers and the periphery surface of the glass pane periphery are offset from the etched interior surface such that a vacuum chamber is disposed between the first and the second glass panes.
