摘要: An alarm wristwatch comprises a watchcase having a back with an inclined peripheral portion and a watchband attached to the watchcase at opposite sides. A transducer for generating an alarm signal faces a cavity provided in a rear portion of the watch case. A plurality of sound holes provided in the inclined peripheral portion of the watchcase back open into this cavity. The second holes are located within an angle of 45.degree. on either side of the longitudinal center line of the watchband so that they are not blocked or muffled by the arm of the wearer. The cavity and sound holes are so proportioned as to constitute a Helmholz resonator by which the sound produced by the transducer is intensified and efficiently transmitted to the exterior of the watchcase.

摘要: To provide a user with better experience of cooperation between an electronic business card processing program and a communication program when exchanging electronic business cards. Electronic business cards are stored in a DB server, which is one of storages for a communication program, as well as an electronic business card local file. Thus, even if a PC is a company's PC, for example, the electronic business cards can be viewed by accessing the DB server from another PC or the like outside an office. Further, the electronic business card processing program operates with the communication program as backend, however, the electronic business card processing program may not be installed on a PC in some cases. Even in such a case, the communication program alone can display received electronic business cards that are stored in the communication program local file on the screen of a display.

摘要: A magnetic recording medium with a high recording density has a first ferromagnetic layer, a non-magnetic layer, and a second ferromagnetic layer successively deposited as the recording layer on a non-magnetic substrate. The recording layer is heated in concentric circular shapes to divide it into regions in which the magnetic interactions between the ferromagnetic layers exhibit ferromagnetism and regions that exhibit anti-ferromagnetism. The ferromagnetic regions are used for recording tracks, and the anti-ferromagnetic regions function as guard bands. In this manner track density is increased without roughening the surface of the recording medium.

摘要: The invention presents a high-viscosity eye lotion with which lasting curve effects can be obtained with no feeling of foreign bodies to the eye as in the conventional eye salves used in treating eyes. The high-viscosity eye lotion of the invention comprises a swollen hydrated gel of a crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol and an eye-disease curative active ingredient contained therein. It is prepared by irradiating an aqueous solution of a polyvinyl alcohol with an ionizing radiation to such an extent that the polyvinyl alcohol is crosslinked to give a hydrated gel with an equilibrium swelling ratio in the range from 70 to 100 by weight and then dipping the hydrated gel in an aqueous solution of the eye-disease curative active agent.

摘要: Process and apparatus for fabricating a pneumatic rubber fender comprising a cylindrical body of a combination of a plurality of rubber and reinforced rubber layers, both of the terminal ends of which are closed so that compressed air can be sealed therein. In the fabrication process, the cylindrical body of a non-vulcanized rubber fender, one end of which is closed by a first end plate, is firstly formed on a fabrication drum provided with a cylindrical portion and an end plate portion closing one end of the cylindrical portion. The connection of a second end plate with an opened free end of the above-mentioned cylindrical body of the non-vulcanized rubber fender is carried out in such a condition that the above-mentioned opened free end is turned back while the cylindrical body of the non-vulcanized rubber fender is mounted on the fabrication drum. After completion of the above-mentioned connecting operation, the non-vulcanized rubber fender is withdrawn from the fabrication drum and thereafter subjected to the vulcanizing operation.

摘要: A chopper circuit generates a voltage to be supplied to a primary side of a transformer, and an inverter circuit supplies an output voltage of the chopper circuit to the primary side of the transformer in a positive phase or a negative phase. Thereby, an electric-discharge lamp connected to a secondary side of the transformer is lighted. A controlling section detects a lamp current, and thereby determines a type of the electric-discharge lamp. The controlling section decides the control value optimal for the chopper circuit and the inverter circuit on the basis of the determination result. The controlling section controls the chopper circuit and the inverter circuit with the decided control value. Thereby, the lighting device drives the electric-discharge lamp in an optimal state. For instance, the lighting device always makes the electric-discharge lamp lighting in a 100% light-modulated state regardless of its type.
