摘要: An organic EL element having at least a cathode, a cathode buffer layer comprising a HAT derivative, an electron injection transport layer and a light-emitting layer in that order from a substrate side. The organic EL element of the present invention provides the particular advantages of (1) preventing damage to the electron injection transport performance of the electron injection transport layer due to oxygen and/or moisture adsorbed on the cathode, thereby ensuring a supply of electrons to the light-emitting layer, (2) reducing the drive voltage of the organic EL element, (3) preventing an increase in the drive voltage to provide the same current density over the course of the drive time, and (4) controlling the occurrence of current leaks and pixel defects, thereby improving the quality and manufacturing yield of the organic EL element.

摘要: A light emitting device in accordance with the present invention includes a light emitting element and a light sensor for detecting the luminous intensity of the light emitted from the light emitting element. The light emitting element includes a lower electrode, a light emitting material layer including at least a light emitting layer, and an upper electrode having light transparency, which are formed on a substrate in the named order. One of the lower electrode and the upper electrode acts as a cathode, and the other acts as an anode. The light sensor is formed on the light emitting element. Thus, it is possible to provide the light emitting device so configured to sufficiently prevent the unevenness of luminance and the deterioration in color balance, and to efficiently guide the light emitted from the light emitting element to the light sensor, so as to enable to detect the luminous intensity of the emitted light with high sensitiveness, with a minimized adverse mutual influence between the light emitting element and the light sensor.

摘要: An emitting device in an organic electroluminescent device is disclosed, in which a lower electrode pattern is formed on a substrate, an emitting layer pattern is formed on the lower electrode pattern, and a transparent electrode is formed on the emitting layer pattern and an emitting body having a structure in which an organic thin film emits light when an application current is applied to it. The pattern of the transparent electrode completely covers and is larger than that of the lower electrode. The pattern of the transparent electrode is formed over the entire area of the pattern of the lower electrode.

摘要: An organic EL device having a light emitting element including a first electrode (2), a second electrode (4) of transparent conductive film, and a light emitting organic material layer (9) formed between said first electrode (2) and said second electrode (4), wherein said transparent conductive film is made of a metal oxide deficient in oxygen as compared with stoichiometric composition. Since the transparent conductive film (4) directly in contact with the light emitting organic material layer (9) over a wide area is made of the metal oxide deficient in oxygen as compared with stoichiometric composition, the transparent conductive film can absorb moisture and oxygen which may possibly absorbed by the light emitting organic material layer so that the light emitting organic material layer is prevented from deteriorating, and the long emission lifetime of the element can be ensured.

摘要: An organic light-emitting device is provided, which increases the proportion of available light as much as possible and which produces higher brightness with less input power. The light-emitting device comprises: (a) a base having a surface; (b) a first electrode and a second electrode formed on the surface of the base; the first and second electrodes being located to be opposite to each other; (c) a light-emitting material layer located between the first and second electrodes; the light-emitting material layer having a first part and a second part; the first part being inclined with respect to the surface of the base at an inclination angle within a range from 45° to 90°; the second part being approximately parallel to the surface of the base; and (d) a carrier-blocking layer formed between the first electrode and the second part of the light-emitting material layer; the carrier-blocking layer having a function of blocking carriers emitted from the first electrode into the light-emitting material layer. The first part of the light-emitting material layer forms as a light-emitting region while the second part of the light-omitting material layer forms a non-light-emitting region. The output light is emitted from the light-emitting material layer by way of the base or the second electrode.
