    摘要: A band-pass filter includes electrodes formed on both upper and lower surfaces of a dielectric plate, and a plurality of non-electrode portions on the upper and lower surfaces of the dielectric plate so that the non-electrode portions face each other across the dielectric plate to form resonators in regions confined by the non-electrode portions on the dielectric plate. The resonators other than at least input- and output-stage resonators are n&lgr;2 resonators, where &lgr; denotes one wavelength and n is an integer more than one. The first- and second-stage resonators, and the third- and fourth-stage resonators are magnetically (inductively) coupled, and the second- and third-stage resonators are capacitively or inductively coupled. The band-pass filter therefore provides satisfactory attenuation characteristic from the pass band to the stop band, and can also be compact and lightweight.

    摘要: There is provided a dielectric resonator which can suppress a spurious output acting as unnecessary resonance and can prevent the out-of-band characteristics of a filter from being degraded. Electrodes having circular openings are formed on a dielectric substrate, and the dielectric substrate is arranged between upper and lower conductive cases. A resonance region is used as a portion between the openings of the dielectric substrate, and columnar members consisting of a wave absorber are arranged between the upper and lower conductive cases.

    摘要: A dielectric filter includes a case, a substrate having microstrip lines formed thereon, and a dielectric plate having non-electrode parts serving as dielectric resonators. The case includes a supporting part for supporting the lower surface of the dielectric plate and includes a side wall surrounding the side faces of the dielectric plate wherein the supporting part and the side wall are formed in an integral fashion. The substrate is bonded to the case and the dielectric plate is mounted on the supporting part of the case. A metal cover is then placed on the case such that the opening of the case is closed with the cover. In the dielectric filter constructed in the above-described manner, warping of the case for supporting the dielectric plate is suppressed and thus the stress exerted on the dielectric plate is reduced. As a result, the dielectric plate is prevented from being separated from the case and also prevented from having a crack. The above-described structure also allows the dielectric filter to be formed into a small size. The invention also provides a duplexer and a communication device using such a dielectric filter.

    摘要: A perpendicular magnetic recording medium comprises a base having a main surface and form, and a magnetic layer formed on the main surface, and having a recording surface, formed with a number of fine projections, and a susceptible axis substantially perpendicular to the recording surface. The projections are distributed so that the difference between a height level corresponding to an area ratio of 1.0%, obtained when the projections are cut by an imaginary plane parallel to the recording surface, and another height level corresponding to an area ratio of 99.0%, obtained in a like manner, ranges from 40 to 600 .ANG.. A protective film of a substantially uniform thickness is formed on the recording surface of the magnetic layer.
