Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing customer initiated services to a mounted user interface device in a retail environment. At a user interface device, a customer scans an object missing a barcode or label, and the interface device connects to a remote customer service platform configured to detect the object and return to the interface device barcode data for the object, where a corresponding label is printed with the returned data. The user interface device may be automatically connected to a remote agent based on anonymized user data or based on scanned object data for providing particularly customized user services, such as explanations on how to use the object.

Abstract: A product verification system for use in bagging areas is disclosed herein. An example product verification system includes a first imaging device having a first field of view (FOV) and a second imaging device having a second FOV. One or more processors of the system are configured to capture first image data from the first imaging device, and identify within the first image data one or more unloaded objects. The processors may also capture second image data from the second imaging device, and identify within the second image data one or more objects entering a loading plane. The processors may also identify identifying characteristics of the one or more objects entering the loading plane, and obtain identification data for the unloaded objects from the unloading plane. The processors may compare the identification data to the identifying characteristics to determine if each of the unloaded objects has entered the loading plane.

An example mobile robot includes an electronically securable storage compartment electronically controllable between a stored state and an accessible state. The example mobile robot further includes a user access controller configured to receive a user authorization indicating a desired user access to the electronically securable storage compartment. The user access controller may also trigger a mitigation protocol when the electronically securable storage compartment is accessed without receiving the user authorization.
