    摘要: A method and apparatus for effecting low-pressure separation from a suspension of reclaimed wastepaper of both cellulose pulp fibers and light impurity particles having a specific gravity less than that of the pulp fibers, characterized by the use of a wastepaper cleaner operable in the low-pressure hydrocyclone mode to deposit the heavier pulp fibers at the bottom of a chamber and to establish an upward flow of the lighter particles in a vertical vortex in the central portion of the chamber. The invention also includes a method and apparatus for separating the cellulose pulp fibers from a reclaimed wastepaper suspension by a combined high-pressure drop low-pressure drop separation process, use being made of a high-pressure drop hydrocyclone separator that is connected in unitized construction with the low-pressure wastepaper cleaner. Finally, an improved waste-paper cleaning system is disclosed including in combination with the highpressure drop low-pressure drop separator a further low-pressure wastepaper cleaner for effecting second-stage cleaning of the lighter separated impurity particles, and a further hydrocyclone separator for effecting second-stage cleaning of the heavier separated impurity particles.

    摘要: Thermosetting resinous adhesives, useful particularly as plywood or lumber laminating adhesives, comprise a phenol-, resorcinol-, urea-, or melamine-formaldehyde resin and an extender therefor. The extender comprises an aqueous cellulosic pulp used in relative proportions of from about 1-50 parts by weight extender for each 100 parts by weight resin, dry solids basis. Water is included in amount sufficient to impart to the compositions a viscosity of 1,000-12,000 centipoises The cellulosic pulp extender preferably comprises the pulp mill paper making waste sludges containing the discarded cellulosic fines separated from the pulp products of the mill. Its inclusion has the effect of holding the water at the glue line and accordingly of improving significantly the assembly time characteristics of the adhesive.

    摘要: A spindle assembly is disclosed for rotatably connecting a mower blade with a lawn mower housing. The spindle assembly includes a casing containing a through bore, a standard hex head bolt journalled within the casing, and a blade adapter member having a non-circular recess for non-rotatably engaging the hex head of the bolt. The spindle assembly also includes a drive pulley nonrotatably connected with the opposite end of the bolt, spacer means between the adapter and pulley, and a nut screw threaded to the bolt to displace the drive pulley and adapter inwardly into engagement with opposite ends of the spacer means, thereby to connect as an integral unit the spacer means, bolt, adapter and drive pulley. In a first embodiment of the invention, the pulley means includes a single blade sheave keyed to the bolt member. In a second embodiment of the invention, the pulley means includes a pair of blade sheaves keyed to the bolt and separated by a spacer sleeve to increase the torque transmitting capacity of the spindle assembly.

    摘要: A differential mechanism of the type including a pair of annular driven clutch members spring-biased into driven engagement with an annular central driving member arranged colinearly therebetween, and holdout ring means operable when one of the driven shafts overruns the other for maintaining the corresponding driven clutch member in a disengaged condition relative to the driving member, characterized in that each of the axially split resilient holdout rings is normally biased radially outwardly in an expanded condition into frictional engagement with the outer side wall of the driven clutch recess in which it is rotatably supported. Pilot means contained solely within the driving member are provided for piloting the adjacent ends of the side gears upon which the driven clutch members are axially slidable. According to the preferred embodiment, the adjacent ends of the side gears are journalled in the central cam member, the spring biasing means being arranged either externally or internally of the driven clutch members. According to an alternate embodiment, the piloting is effected by a telescopic connection between the adjacent ends of the side gears.

    摘要: This invention is a hydrocyclone pulp cleaner having a single conical shell divided into two separation chambers by an improved baffle construction which materially increases the efficiency of separation thus increasing the percentage of acceptable material and reducing the percentage of bottom reject material. The dividing baffle is constructed to provide an inlet for the material entering upper portion of the bottom chamber in a substantially tangential direction at the upper portion of the side wall of the lower chamber and in the form disclosed the size of the inlet opening is adjustable. The baffle is also designed to retard the flow of pulp from the top to the bottom chamber and is provided with a central discharge to remove the acceptable material from the bottom separation chamber upwardly through the baffle.

    摘要: Clamp mechanism including a pair of opposed clamp members movably mounted on a frame. The clamp members are movable toward and away from each other to effect clamping and release of a load, and are movable in the same direction on the frame, to one or the other side, for the purpose of side shifting a load. A fluid-pressure operated ram is connected to each clamp member to move it under power. Hydraulic circuit means connects a source of fluid under pressure with the rams, this circuit means on side shifting connecting the rams in series with one dumping into the other. The hydraulic circuit means includes a pair of valves, one associated with each clamping member. One valve is actuated by the clamp member which is trailing on side shifting in one direction to stop the supply of pressure fluid to the rams prior to the ram for the trailing clamp member reaching the end of its stroke. A valve associated with the other clamp member performs a similar function with the other clamp member moving as a trailing member on side shifting.
