Abstract:
A battery assembly comprising a housing defining an interior and at least two electrical storage cells located in the interior of the housing. A thermal transfer barrier located in the interior of the housing, the thermal transfer barrier being positioned between the at least two cells in the housing, wherein the thermal transfer barrier is formed of a material having a greater insulation capability than a material of the housing.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for navigating through multiple channels of broadcast content to locate channels that are running programs of interest include monitoring a plurality of channels of baseband channel information to detect commercials and commercial segments, buffering the baseband channel information for at least one channel; and switching the channel feed for a broadcast receiver to the buffered baseband channel information whenever the receiver is changed to a channel in which commercials or commercial segments are detected.
Abstract:
A heat management system for a portable electronic device is disclosed. The system comprises a component that generates heat during operation of the component, a fuel cell device configured to provide electrical power to the component to operate the component, and a heat transfer apparatus configured to transfer heat from the component to the fuel cell device when the component operates. In another aspect, a portable information handling device is disclosed that includes a housing defining an interior, a component positioned in the housing that generates heat during operation of the component, a fuel cell device positioned in the housing and configured to provide electrical power to the component to operate the component, and a heat transfer apparatus positioned in or on the housing and configured to transfer heat from the component to the fuel cell device when the component operates.
Abstract:
A system and method for increasing capabilities of streaming content including video on demand to multiple users are provided. The system includes a central broadcast station and at least two user locations for receiving streaming content from the central broadcast station. Each user location includes receiving equipment capable of tuning into more than one channel simultaneously and capable of capturing content from a first channel in a first in first out buffer as it presents content from a second channel.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a system and method for scannable executable design. In a first aspect of the present invention, a system and method for developing an executable includes scanning an image and identifying a representation of a user interface element included in the scanned image. An executable is then formatted to include a user interface element corresponding to the identified representation of the user interface element. In a second aspect of the present invention, a representation of a user interface element suitable for scanning includes an object capable of being positioned on a medium, the object representing the user interface element. The object is capable of being identified as corresponding to the user interface element so that when the object is scanned, an executable is formatted to include the user interface corresponding to the identified representation of the user interface element.
Abstract:
Data accessed by a processor to be displayed on the graphical user interface will have its data storage device visually coded. The visual code for the data storage device will be used on the window displaying the data on the graphical user interface. This visual coding will indicate to the user the location of the data for each window displayed on the graphical user interface.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a bi-directional optical monitor interconnect. The bi-directional monitor interconnect of the present invention includes an optical conductor with a first and second end. Disposed on the first end of the optical conductor is a first optical communication device and a first optical receiving device. Disposed on the second end of the optical conductor is a second optical communication device and a second optical receiving device. The first and second optical communication devices are capable of transmitting data over an optical connection. The first optical communication device is suitable for communicating via a first wavelength and the second optical communication device is capable of communicating over a second wavelength. The first receiving device is capable converting the second wavelength into electrical signals and the second receiving device is capable of converting the first wavelength into electrical signals.
Abstract:
A method of performing power down of a computer monitor when a video signal is no longer present and apparatus which performs the method schedules an automatic power conservation mode after a given period of time unless an inhibiting power sustain command embedded in the video signal is received. The power sustain command is placed in the regular video signal at a regular interval. The frequency of the command may be made shorter than the power-off timeout in order to maintain the power-on state of the monitor. Multiple time lapse thresholds may be set to permit multiple power conservation modes. This method may be implemented without making hardware changes in retrofitting a monitor.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a system and a method for configuring and loading a user interface. The method for configuring the user interface includes receiving user interface data from a remote device describing one or more user interface functions on the remote device. This user interface data is compared with a user interface template. A display of one or more representations is configured based on the user interface data, with each representation corresponding to one of the user interface functions on the remote device. The user is then able to interact with the display of the representations in order to utilize the user interface functions available on the remote device.
Abstract:
A method of providing an indication to a user of a status of an updating process of a video display monitor is disclosed. The method comprising receiving a set of instructions by the video display monitor, loading the set of instructions into a memory of the video display monitor, detecting a status of the loading of the set of instructions into the memory of the video display monitor, generating an indication of the status of the loading of the set of instructions into the memory of the video display monitor, and displaying the indication of the status of the loading of the set of instructions by the video display monitor.
