    Abstract: A method and a system are disclosed for detecting, isolating and estimating a degradation of a corresponding component of an actuator controlled by an actuator command signal, the method comprising obtaining a control signal of the actuator; obtaining a signal indicative of a displacement of the actuator; computing an envelope of admissible values for the displacement of the actuator; determining if the displacement of the actuator is outside the computed envelope and in the case where the displacement of the actuator is outside the computed enveloped computing an estimation of each parameter and state of the actuator; identifying at least one corresponding parameter responsible for causing the actuator displacement to be outside the computer envelope and providing an indication of the at least one corresponding parameter.

    Abstract: A vehicle-position monitoring system includes liquid-capacitive inclinometer sensor, configured to provide a measurement of grade (θgrade) of a surface over which a vehicle travels, and an accelerometer to measure acceleration of the vehicle along a principal axis (ax) of the vehicle along the surface.     Abstract: The vehicle odometry and motion direction system and method is described. The vehicle odometry and motion direction system and method determines if the first ground speed data is acceptable. Ground speed data is calculated for all targets within a radar's field of view and targets ground speed data is processed to determine second ground speed data.     Abstract: A method of detecting a way-side object includes receiving data frames from sensors mounted on a vehicle. Position data corresponding to the position of the vehicle is received. Object-of-interest data is retrieved from a database. The sensor data frames and the object-of-interest data are processed to determine a region-of-interest in the sensor data frame. A portion of the sensor data frames corresponding to the region of interest is processed using machine-learned object detection to identify a first object-of-interest. The portion of the sensor data frames corresponding to the region of interest is processed using computer vision methods to detect features of the expected object-of-interest and identifying the detected object-of-interest as explained when the features of the expected object-of-interest are detected. Explained object-of-interest data corresponding to the explained detected object-of-interest is output to a navigation system of the vehicle.

    Abstract: A vehicle positioning system includes processing circuitry in communication with the vehicle. The system further includes a memory connected to the processing circuitry, where the memory is configured to store executable instructions that, when executed by the processing circuitry, facilitate performance of operations. The operations include to receive vehicle-speed data from a first set of sensors operably coupled to the vehicle. The operations further include to predict a vehicle location based on the vehicle-speed data. The operations further include to receive inertial data from a second set of sensors operably coupled to the vehicle, and update the predicted vehicle location based upon the inertial data.
