摘要： The present invention generally relates to fastening systems. Specifically, this invention relates to a various embodiments of a fastening system that either attaches to existing buttons or attaches directly to an article of clothing. In preferred embodiments of the present invention, the fastening system has a first portion that attaches to a buttonhole or a first part of the article and a second portion that attaches to a button or second part of the article. The first portion and second portion detachably attach to each other by means of a twist-lock, magnetic mechanism, or some other attachment mechanism. Alternatively, the fastening system can be built directly into an article without augmenting an existing button and buttonhole fastener.

The package includes a mouth portion arranged to be opened to provide access to the contents of the package. The package is formed of a flexible material and includes a front panel, a rear panel, and a pair of opposed side gussets. The panels and gussets each include a top portion, which between them define the package's mouth. The package's mouth is initially sealed but arranged to be opened, e.g., peeled apart. The snap closure enables the resealing of the mouth of the package and is made up of a pair of elongated elements, one of which includes a tongue extending along the length of it. The other element includes an undercut groove extending along the length of it. The elements are arranged to be pressed together, whereupon the tongue of the one element enters the groove of the other element with portions of the panels and side gussets tightly interposed therebetween. The closure elements may be a part of the package or a separate component for use therewith. In any case when the closure is utilized it recloses the mouth of the package to preclude or minimize the ingress of air into the package.

摘要： A spin welded fastening assembly is constructed of two interfitting components. A circular base member formed of thermoplastic material has a circular disc portion with a workpiece engaging surface for friction welding and has a circular upstanding coupler portion integrally formed on the opposite surface of the disc portion for mounting a standoff member. The standoff member has a downwardly extending circular flange portion which snaps over the upstanding circular coupler portion of the circular base member. The circular flange portion of the standoff member has a closed end in the form of a transversely extending mounting plate portion having a central mounting aperture formed therethrough. The head of a quarter turn type fastener is installed in the mounting aperture of the standoff member. The snap fitting connection between the circular flange portion of the standoff member and the upstanding circular coupler portion includes a ratchet means for permitting the standoff member to be turned in one direction only. This rotating direction is opposite to the direction which the quarter turn fastener must be turned to be is installed into the mounting aperture of the standoff member.

摘要： A class of snap fasteners is described each of which includes at least one male and at least one female member. The female members have at least one socket portion which may be in the nature of a cavity in a hollow housing accessible by a fenestration in a face wall which is normally exposed or accessible, or may be in the nature of a through-hole in a substantially solid elongate bar member. The male members have at least one insert portion configurated and dimensioned to be receivable within an associated socket portion with relatively little clearance. Retainers are provided which limit free movement of the insert portions into and out of the socket portions. In the preferred embodiment, the retainers are in the nature of at least one protuberance or nipple at the fenestration or access opening to the socket portion which forms a local constriction of the fenestration area to provide an interference fit when the insert portion passes through the fenestration. By making either one of the portions or the retainers out of a resilient material, the insert portions can be snapped into engagement with the associated socket portions while maintaining the male and female members in substantially parallel planes throughout the joining operation. Other protuberances may be provided to improve the snap connection as well as to positionally stabilize the members once joined. The male and female members are provided with suitable connecting means for attachment to the parts to be releasably joined by the snap fastener, and are adapted to be gripped to permit the members to be separated without applying excessive stresses to the parts to be joined.
