摘要： A cordless coffee making device for brewing coffee without accessing a power grid includes a housing having a reservoir, for addition of water, a brewing compartment, for addition of a carafe and a basket that contains coffee grounds, and a power compartment. A pipe is attached to and extends between a bottom of the reservoir and an upper end of the brewing compartment. A heater is positioned in-line with the pipe is operationally engaged to a switch. A first connector in the power compartment is engaged to the switch and is complementary to a second connector of a battery that can selectively power a plurality of implements, wherein each implement comprises a first connector. The battery is attached by engaging the second connector to the first connector. The switch actuates the heater so that hot water flows through the pipe into the basket, causing coffee to collect in the carafe.

摘要： A beverage maker is disclosed with a removable filter carrier, a receiver for the removable filter carrier, and a locking mechanism to selectively secure and seal the carrier to the beverage maker by way of lifting the carrier to engage a sealing surface. In use, the filter carrier is linearly inserted into the receiver via a front face of the beverage maker. The receiver may also include the locking mechanism. The locking mechanism includes a lever that is actuated to operate the locking mechanism. Actuation of the lever is translated to lift and clamp the filter carrier against the seal surface. In the ‘sealed’ position, the lever is selectively fixed in place until the user actuates the lever so as to release the filter carrier. In the ‘released’ position, the filter carrier is still supported by the locking mechanism but it may be selectively removed from the receiver. The locking mechanism reduces or eliminates conventional issues with securing a filter carrier to a beverage maker such as properly aligning the filter carrier so that it may be secured to the beverage maker, the filter carrier disengaging from the beverage maker during use, or not being able to remove the filter carrier after a brew cycle.

摘要： A method comprises the steps of: providing an electric coffee brewing machine; providing a single-use, disposable brew basket, inserting the disposable brew basket into the electric coffee brewing machine; brewing a single cup of coffee with the electric coffee brewing machine; and discarding the disposable brew basket after the single cup of coffee has been brewed. The electric coffee brewing machine has a cold water reservoir, an electric heating element for heating the water, and a basket receiving recess. The disposable brew basket has a bottom wall and at least one side wall extending generally upwardly from the bottom wall to define a brewing reservoir for receiving heated water from the electric coffee brewing machine. The bottom wall of the basket has at least one port located in a central portion thereof to permit brewed coffee to flow from the disposable brew basket. The disposable brew basket is inserted into the basket receiving recess of the electric coffee brewing machine before brewing.

Piercing elements are also supported at said brew chamber top and can be pushed into its interior. After elevating the brew chamber top and thus opening the brew chamber and drawing out the movable carrier, the piercing elements are withdrawn from the interior of the brew chamber top.

摘要： An apparatus for use in a beverage brewing machine includes a filter pack containing an amount of grinds to brew approximately only a single serving of brewed beverage, a single serving disposable brew basket including a body defining a brewing reservoir. The body is formed with a disposable rigid construction. The body has an opening therethrough to permit a brewed beverage to flow from the brewing reservoir of the disposable brew basket into a beverage container. The body extends upwardly from a bottom of the brewing reservoir to an open top that is configured to receive heated water from the brewing machine. The heated water flows through the open top during a brewing operation. The brewing reservoir has a size dimensioned appropriate to make approximately only a single serving of beverage during a single brewing operation. The brewing area is sufficiently large to hold the filter pack and the heated water while brewing without a level of the heated water rising above and overflowing the open top.
