摘要:
An apparatus for controlling a level of gas in a closed environment from a gas supply having a gas sensor for detecting the level of gas in the closed environment. The apparatus has a valve in communication with the gas supply which is automatically opened without human interaction, monitoring and adjustment to release gas from the gas supply into the environment when the level of gas in the environment goes below a first predetermined level and which is automatically closed without human interaction, monitoring and adjustment to stop gas from being released from the gas supply into the environment when the level of gas in the environment goes above a second predetermined level. A method for controlling a level of gas in a closed environment from a gas supply. A refuge chamber.

A portable and compact hyperbaric chamber includes an inflatable chamber, a weighted base, a dump valve, at least one auxiliary port, an external pressure gage, a plurality of fill valves, and a plurality of pressure relief valves. The access opening is integrated into a lateral panel of the inflatable chamber and provide in and out access to the inflatable chamber. The weighted base is mounted to the base panel and functions as a stable base. The plurality of fill valves is in fluid communication with the inflatable chamber to provide compressed air from a compressor so that the inflatable chamber can be pressurized. The plurality of pressure relief valves is in fluid communication with the inflatable chamber to maintain a specific pressure within the inflatable chamber. The dump valve, the auxiliary port, and the external pressure gage are in fluid communication with the inflatable chamber to optimize the functionality.

Embodiments relate to systems and methods for delivery of oxygen or other treatment gases to a patient without requiring physical contact or enclosure of the patient. Embodiments can include a delivery hood, sensing components, and a gas distribution system including one or more gas delivery ports. Gas delivery ports may be individually controlled based on input from the sensing components to alter the volume and orientation of treatment gas flow directed at a patient. Sensing components can include cameras or other sensors that detect the position of a patient's head, and gas delivery ports may then be controlled to direct treatment gas flow in the direction of the patient's head. Embodiments and methods described thereby allow for efficient oxygen or other gas delivery to a patient without requiring contact or enclosure of the patient.

An inflatable body includes an elongate chamber delimited by two substantially parallel main walls and defining at least a portion of a base suitable for holding a person laid down thereon, the chamber being extended, integrally, on both sides of the base, beyond a transition area where the main walls are close to each other, by two raised lateral strips extending along at least the base portion, so as to laterally flank the person, wherein the main walls are braced by a plurality of drop stitch links, and at the location of the transition area, the inflatable body has seams bringing the main walls together, thereby causing a fold between the base and each of the raised lateral strips, with the seams being covered by a sealed lining wall.

A shelter to protect users from an external environment has an inner front module having an airlock and an outer front module which is slidingly attached to the inner front module. The shelter has an inner rear module and an outer rear module slidingly attached to the inner rear module. When the outer front module and the inner front module are in an extended state and the outer rear module and the inner rear module are in an extended state and the outer front module and outer rear module are attached, they form an airtight chamber in which users are protected from the external environment. A method for constructing a shelter to protect users from an external environment is also disclosed.

A self-movable mine refuge chamber powered by a drive assembly, preferably in the form of a set of crawler or tractor mechanisms, mounted on the chamber, so that the chamber can be moved through the mine without use of any other motive force. The drive assembly further includes a tilt assembly so that one end of the other of the chamber can also be tilted to establish a modified height profile to permit obstacles along the path to be negotiated. The drive assembly is powered by an on-board, detachable power supply module and, using controls from outside the chamber, the chamber can be maneuvered through working tunnels or roadways, crosscuts, or other passageways within the mine, and be positioned and repositioned at will.

The invention relates to a fully closed circuit-pendulum-storage system wherein a given amount of a ready to breathe gas mixture made of various inert gases including hydrogen and oxygen is continuously conveyed between two highly pressurized gas containers. Initially, the required breathing gas leaves the pressurized gas container and reaches the circuit at a constant dosage according to the overdosing principle. The circuit consists of an inhalation bag, a diving helmet, an exhalation bag and a single or double pack CO2 absorption filter. At a depth of 0-100 m a mixture of oxygen, nitrogen and helium is used as a breathing gas. At a depth of 100-700 m a given amount of hydrogen is mixed therewith according to the wishes of the diver, whereby the oxygen content should not exceed 3 vol. %. When the diver emerges from a depth of over 100 m, the hydrogen is removed from the breathing gas and from the circuit by means of palladium membrane diffusion or catalytic water conversion. The removal of hydrogen is controlled by hydrogen detectors. At this point only, the oxygen content can exceed 3 vol %.
