Abstract: Assisted racking of digital resistance includes detecting a state of a cable. A motor is mechanically coupled to the cable to provide resistance during an exercise by tensioning the cable. It further includes determining completion of the exercise based at least in part on the detected state of the cable. It further includes selectively removing resistance from the cable based at least in part on the determination that the user has completed the exercise.

Abstract: A game system is disclosed that comprises a game processor configured to control game play of an electronic video game, and a game controller in electronic communication with the game processor. The game controller includes a plurality of appendicular members configured for respective engagement with legs and arms of a user, and a resistance control system providing a resistive force on each of the plurality of appendicular members with respect to movement of the legs and arms of the user. The resistive force provided by the resistance control system is adjustable in a generally continuous manner in response to the game play of the electronic video game. The game controller also includes a feedback control system responsive to at least one of a motion parameter, a force parameter, and/or a position parameter of each of the plurality of appendicular members to control the game play of the electronic video game.

Abstract: The present invention relates a system and method to allow users to train different joints of a limb in different planes. The rotation of the system can be driven by a motor to assist or resist the motion for training purpose. By the present invention, the user can use the device to switch training between the vertical and horizontal planes, without changing the device and any module. The system is also adjustable to meet different users' body sizes.

Abstract: An apparatus and a system include an electrically controlled motor comprising an output shaft, at least one winding and a rotor for exerting torque on the output shaft. An encoder senses and outputs a rotational position of the output shaft. A pulley is joined to the output shaft for converting a rotational motion to a linear motion. A cable is joined to the pulley where at least a portion of the cable is wound about the pulley. The cable is configured for joining to a resistance training system to provide a force element. A controller is in communication with the electrically controlled motor and the encoder for controlling the electrically controlled motor to exert a predetermined torque during motion of the cable in conjunction with operation of the resistance training system.

Abstract: A system for training athletes in running activities, such as sprints or team field sports, provides a resistance to an athlete attempting to run. The system comprises a drive unit, and in an embodiment, the drive unit comprises a motor having a motor shaft and a pulley operatively coupled to the shaft. The system further comprises a rope adapted to be rolled on the pulley, a unit controller adapted to control operation of the drive unit, and a programmable logic controller, which logic controller may display and storage of data related to the operation of the system. In use, the rope may be fastened to an athlete, and thereafter the athlete may be allowed to run in a direction away from the drive unit, where the pulley will provide a resistive force on the athlete.
