    Abstract: An ammonia decomposition system includes: a reactor filled with a catalyst for a decomposition reaction where ammonia which is a raw material is decomposed into hydrogen and nitrogen; and a diluent gas supply line for supplying a diluent gas having a lower ammonia concentration than the raw material, such that the diluent gas is mixed with the raw material before the raw material flows into the catalyst. The reactor has an inner surface covered with a refractory material, and the catalyst is filled on a side opposite to the inner surface across the refractory material. The diluent gas supply line is provided with a temperature raising device for raising a temperature of the diluent gas.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a reactor configuration comprising an electrically heated furnace, with at least one reactor tube placed within the furnace and said reactor tube having an exit and entrance outside of the reactor furnace, and wherein said furnace is further provided with

    a number of inspection ports in the furnace wall such to be able to visually inspect the condition of the reactor tube on each opposite side of said reactor tube during operation, the total number of inspection ports being sufficient to inspect all reactor tubes present in the furnace at their full length and circumference; and wherein the heating duty of the furnace is at least 3 MW.

The reactor includes a catalyst containing part for containing the catalyst. The reactor is internally divided into a first chamber supplied with the raw material, and a second chamber located downstream of the first chamber in a direction in which the raw material flows. The catalyst containing part is disposed so as to communicate with each of the first chamber and the second chamber and to extend in the second chamber. An outflow gas line through which a crude cracked gas produced from the raw material by the decomposition reaction flows after flowing out from the reactor as an outflow gas communicates with the second chamber upstream of a communication portion where the catalyst containing part communicates with the second chamber, and a combustion gas from the ammonia combustor is supplied to the second chamber.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a reformer furnace for catalytic reforming of a carbon-containing input material with steam. The reformer furnace has a steel construction which serves as a framework for a refractory lining and for the fastening of burners, reformer tubes and supply and discharge lines. The burners and reformer tubes are arranged in rows, parallel to one another and in alternating fashion. The steel construction includes a plurality of main carrier units, wherein each main carrier unit has at least two vertically extending supports and a horizontally extending main carrier which connects the supports. This type of steel construction makes it possible to achieve uniform spacing of the reformer tubes and burners over the entire reformer furnace. This results in advantages in terms of the maximum operating temperature of the reformer tubes, thereby extending their service life.

    Abstract: The invention relates to processes for recycling waste materials containing valuable metals in a fluidized-bed furnace (100), comprising the phases I, start-up of the fluidized-bed furnace; and II, continuous reprocessing of the waste materials containing valuable metals, characterized in that the fluidized-bed furnace (100) is operated autothermally during the phase II of continuous reprocessing of the waste materials containing valuable metals, with the process temperature being regulated via the fill level of the fluidized-bed furnace (100) and the flow rate of material through the furnace. The invention further provides an apparatus comprising a fluidized-bed furnace (100) for recycling waste materials containing valuable metals in a continuous autothermal process.
