Abstract:
A pulverizer has arms connected to a vertically oriented rotating shaft at hubs. The arms are angled relative to radians extending from the shaft to be canted or offset. Pads can be oversized relative to the arms while being one of coplanar with the arms or recessed while possibly also having their radially inward face(s) angled to assist in resisting catching material thereon. A mechanical fuse connection can assist in connecting arms to the hub to prevent dangerous situations as well.

A comminuting machine including a frame, an infeed conveyor connected to the frame, a hammer mill connected to the frame, the hammer mill including a hammer mill housing substantially surrounding the hammer mill, a containment system substantially surrounding a comminuting portion of the comminuting machine, the containment system includes at least one cage, the at least one cage including a cage frame extending to substantially block projectile travel paths through openings of the comminuting machine, the cage frame being connected to the frame, and a drive unit movably coupled to the frame for effecting movement of the at least one cage relative to the comminuting portion of the comminuting machine without disconnecting the cage frame from the frame.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a sound activated detection system disposed within the conveyor and/or hammer roll area of a reduction mill for detecting unshredable materials fed into the machine. More specifically, an embodiment of this invention comprises a unshredable debris detector disposed in operative relationship in the material input path and includes a transducer, preferably a piezoelectric crystal, acoustically coupled to a sensing surface disposed transversely across a portion of the input path. Alternative embodiments may include one or more accelerometers, microphones, or other vibration or acoustic sensors either alone or in conjunction with the transducer for detecting the unshredable material.
Abstract:
An apparatus for crushing waste metal products includes a rotor having crushing means on a periphery thereof and a casing enclosing the rotor. The casing has an inlet and an outlet for products to be crushed. An exhaust gas from the casing is partly returned to the inlet of the casing by a circulator. The rest of the exhaust gas is ventilated and processed by an exhaust processor. An oxygen concentration is monitored in a gas pathway of the circulator to control the gas concentration in the casing. If the oxygen concentration is high, a water shower sprays into the casing.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to unique waste recycling machines possessing improved efficacy in recycling bulky waste materials to a recycled waste product. The feed for the machine is equipped with a floating stripper plate which scrapes adhering waste materials from a continuous metal apron feed. The device also includes a releasable cradle assembly which supports a striking bar and a screen positioned about a rotating drum equipped with impacting teeth or blades. When a damaging obstacle enters an impacting or fragmenting zone of the machine, a shear pin which maintains the cradle assembly in a fragmenting position will shear causing the cradle assembly to become dislodged to an inoperable or non-damaging position. The machine also includes impacting teeth which are dynamically balanced and positioned upon a rotating impacting drum so as to effectuate especially effective fragmentation of waste materials to a desired particle size.
Abstract:
In a self-propelled crushing machine having a vehicle body, a traveling body mounted on the lower portion of the vehicle body, a crusher mounted on the upper portion of the vehicle body, and a hopper mounted on the upper portions of the vehicle body having a feeder for supplying an object of crush to an inlet of the crusher, the self-traveling crushing machine includes crusher driving means for driving the crusher, an excessive load detector for detecting whether an excessive load is acting on the crusher driving means or not, a feeder driver for driving the feeder, and control means for stopping the feeder driver when excessive load is detected by the excessive load detector means and actuating the feeder driver when excessive load is not detected.
Abstract:
Apparatus for processing waste material made up of a mass of comingled abrasive shards and the like, uncrushable and shreddable classes of waste so that the subsequent individual handling of that waste material is made more efficient. The apparatus combines in a common structure rotary disc screen for initially separating the waste material so that the shards and abrasive classes of material are able to drop through the rotary disc screen while the remainder of the material is delivered to the apparatus for gravitational classification as between the uncrushables and shreddables in response to air flow in a controlled atmosphere to promote gravity fall-out separation of the heavier components from the lighter components.
Abstract:
A more efficient reduction mill is described having, with a rotating hammer mill, a readily displaceable grate assembly system entirely pivotally displaced by power means, as a single unit, from the hammer mill portion to achieve ready access to the grate assembly for reversal or replacement of worn sections in combination with a pivotally displaceable by-pass door, which when displaced to a first position permits quick, safe and efficient removal of uncrushable materials from the product stream of the reduction mill without stopping mill rotation. The pivotal displacement of the by-pass door is selectively powered by the same power means or unit which pivotally displaces the grate system for access to the rotor and grate assembly. Such system employing a common power means for selective pivotal displacement of grate system and/or by-pass door permits a more cost-efficient means of achieving size reduction of a variety of materials, and permits also complete and ready access to the rotary hammer mill portion.
