A panel is provided that is comprised of a rigid and fluid impermeable material. A plurality of hooks is each coupled to the panel. The hooks engage the wheel to retain the panel on the wheel. The panel prevents a cleaner from contacting the exposed lateral surface when the cleaner is applied to the front side of the tire.

摘要： A collapsible spray shield disk is combined with a gripping device. The spray shield disk member is a fabric web that is stretched onto a spring wire frame. The disk member normally has an expanded diameter large enough to cover and protect a vehicle wheel rim, but can be collapsed into a smaller diameter that is a fraction of that in the expanded configuration. A gripping device has an adjustable central gripper bar, and hinged end portions that clip onto diametrically opposed locations of the spring wire frame. The gripping device folds together to contain the spray shield when the latter is in its folded-down configuration. The disk member can employ a spray-resistant, film-coated fabric (e.g., vinyl, urethane, etc. on nylon) or a durable plastic film. The bar can be formed of interfitting slides so that its length can be adjusted.

摘要： A shield for a rim of a vehicle wheel for covering a rim during treatment of a tire mounted on the rim includes a panel that is circularly shaped and rigid. The panel is dimensioned such that the panel is configured to abut to a rim of a vehicle wheel to substantially cover the rim while leaving a tire attached to the rim exposed for treatment. A brace is pivotally coupled to the panel proximate to a center of the panel. The brace is configured to extend between the panel and a surface upon which the vehicle wheel rests, retaining the panel in abutment to the rim of the vehicle wheel. The improvement is the brace positioned on the panel, allowing the panel to be retained in abutment to the rim without further action by a user.
