    摘要: By using a piercing mill that includes a pusher on the entrance side, a plug on the exit side along a pass line, and a plurality of angled rolls as being provided around the plug so as face to each other, in the case where the maximum diameter of an unsound region consisting of center segregation and porosity in a cross section of a billet is d [mm], piercing-rolling is performed under the condition that the plug nose rolling reduction ratio (TDF) expressed by Formula (1) satisfies Formula (2). TDF=(Bd−D1)/Bd  (1) TDF≦−0.50×(d/Bd)+0.06  (2) In Formulae (1) and (2), Bd is the billet diameter [mm], and D1 is the opening [mm] between the angled rolls at the plug nose position. Thereby, when piercing-rolling is performed, the occurrence of an inner surface flaw attributable to the center segregation and porosity in the billet can be prevented reliably.

    摘要: A pilger rolling mill with a roll stand moves linearly back and forth along a movement direction and includes a crank mechanism having a rotatably supported crankshaft with a crank pin and push rod. A first end of the push rod is pivotably fastened to the crank pin and a second end is pivotably fastened to the roll stand, so that during operation of the pilger rolling mill a rotary movement of the crankshaft is converted into an oscillating movement of the roll stand along the movement direction. A compensation shaft is rotatably supported about an axis of rotation and includes a distribution of mass that is not rotationally symmetrical relative to its axis of rotation and a counter-mass. The crankshaft and the compensation shaft are connected to one another by a transmission so that a rotation of the crankshaft leads to a rotation of the compensation shaft.

    摘要: Pilger tooling for use in a pilgering machine includes an elongated stationary mandrel for supporting a tube thereon in position for cold reduction, and a pair of roller dies positioned along opposing sides of the mandrel and in oppositely-facing relation to one another for coacting with the mandrel in reducing the cross-sectional size of the tube. Each roller die is ring-shaped with a central opening for mounting the die on a shaft and has a keyway defined therein adjacent the central opening for receiving a key to secure the die for movement with the shaft. The keyway also provides a timing mark for accurately mounting the die on the shaft. Each roller die has two relief pockets formed in the periphery thereof in circumferentially spaced apart relation with a bridge extending therebetween, and a tube-reducing groove formed in the periphery thereof having a tapered configuration and opening at its opposite ends into the respective pockets. The end of one of the relief pockets is disposed radially outwardly from and aligned with the center of the keyway so as to provide a reference point on the die adjacent the periphery thereof. Each of the mandrel and roller dies are fabricated from a high strength cemented carbide material which is composed of tungsten carbide ranging from about 81.5 to about 86 percent by weight and cobalt ranging from about 14 to about 18.5 percent by weight.

    摘要: In cold rolling of a seamless metallic tube with a cold pilger mill, when a reduction ratio of an outside diameter becomes excessive in comparison to a reduction ratio of a wall thickness, strain in a circumferential direction on flange regions becomes excessive. As a result, compressive stress in a circumferential direction becomes excessive, so that wrinkle imperfections are generated inside a tube and folded on groove bottom regions to become folded defects. This process is repeated to be developed into inside defects. When a hollow shell is produced by the Mannesmann-mandrel process instead of the extrusion process, inside wrinkle imperfections are generated with a sizing mill (a stretch reducer or a sizer) at a stage of hollow shell. Since the inside wrinkle imperfections further grow in cold rolling, it is necessary to pay attention thereto. In consideration of these, (a reduction ratio of an outside diameter/a reduction ratio of a wall thickness both in a cold pilger mill) is set to not more than 1/2. It is, thereby, possible to obtain a high-quality seamless metallic tube, inside defects thereof being suppressed, produced by cold rolling.

Thus, this can be widely applied for producing steam generator tubes which exhibits high S/N ratio in the inner coil eddy current testing.

    摘要: A pilger die assembly in which the die has an annular body with an opening extending from a central, through bore to the peripheral surface. The opening subtends a circumferential angle at the through bore of less than 180.degree.. The cylindrical arbor has a section of reduced cross-sectional dimension, preferably formed by a flat. The die is positioned with the opening aligned with the flat, slid into coaxial registration with the arbor, rotated to a captured position in which the opening is no longer aligned with flat on the arbor and then pushed axially to engage a key on the arbor in a keyway extending axially from one side face of the die. A stop screw threaded into the arbor adjacent the other side face of the die locks it in place.
