    摘要: A pulling-up-type continuous casting method according to an aspect of the present invention includes disposing a shape defining member (102) above a molten-metal surface of molten metal (M1) held in a holding furnace (101), the shape defining member (102) being configured to define a cross-sectional shape of a cast-metal article (M3) to be cast, submerging a starter (ST) into the molten metal (M1) while making the starter (ST) pass through the shape defining member (102), and pulling up the molten metal (M1) by pulling up the starter (ST) while making the molten metal (M1) pass through the shape defining member (102) after a temperature of the shape defining member (102) reaches a predetermined reference temperature. The reference temperature is equal to or higher than a solidification completion temperature of the molten metal (M1).

    摘要: A pulling-up-type continuous casting apparatus includes a holding furnace that holds molten metal, a shape defining member disposed above a surface of the molten metal held in the holding furnace, and configured to define a cross-sectional shape of a cast-metal article as the molten metal passes through it, an image pickup unit that takes an image of the molten metal that has passed through the shape defining member, an image analysis unit that detects a fluctuation on the molten metal from the image and determines a solidification interface based on presence/absence of the fluctuation, and a casting control unit that changes a casting condition only when the solidification interface determined by the image analysis unit is not within a predetermined reference range. The casting control unit uses a reference range which differs according to the pulling-up angle of the molten metal.

    摘要: A free casting method according to the present invention includes, a lead-out step for leading out molten metal from a lead-out area (P) provided in a source of supply, e.g. a surface level of the molten metal, to retain the molten metal temporarily by surface films (F) generated on an outer surface, and a forming step for obtaining a formed body by solidifying retained molten metal (MS) led out along a set passage (L1) depending on a desired casting shape, wherein the retained molten metal is solidified after being formed into the desired casting shape by applying an external force thereto at positions between an unrestrained root portion of the retained molten metal in vicinity of the surface level of the molten metal and a solidification interface defined as a boundary between the retained molten metal and the formed body in the forming step.

    摘要: Embodiments herein relate to a method for forming a bulk solidifying amorphous alloy sheets have different surface finish including a “fire” polish surface like that of a float glass. In one embodiment, a first molten metal alloy is poured on a second molten metal of higher density in a float chamber to form a sheet of the first molten that floats on the second molten metal and cooled to form a bulk solidifying amorphous alloy sheet. In another embodiment, a molten metal is poured on a conveyor conveying the sheet of the first molten metal on a conveyor and cooled to form a bulk solidifying amorphous alloy sheet. The cooling rate such that a time-temperature profile during the cooling does not traverse through a region bounding a crystalline region of the metal alloy in a time-temperature-transformation (TTT) diagram.
