摘要: A standing wave amplification device for vibration signal collection includes a sensing rod (11) acting as standing wave transmission medium. A standing wave formation device includes two fixing support devices (12) distributed along the axial direction and connecting the sensing rod (11) to an operating arm (14). The two fixing support devices (12) respectively collect vibration waves and transmit them to the sensing rod (11) from two different locations of the operating arm (14). The vibration waves are superimposed to form a standing wave on the sensing rod (11). A vibration sensor (13) is connected to the sensing rod (11) and the vibration sensor (13) is between the two fixing support devices (12). A wave detected by the vibration sensor (13) is the standing wave. Compared with transverse wave or longitudinal wave transmitted in the transmission medium of prior art, the standing wave has advantages of larger amplitude and more obvious vibration effect. A ladle slag vibration signal detection method based on the device also has said advantages. The sensing rod (11) can make physical resonance, by which the standing wave signal is amplified and real warning rate of ladle slag is improved effectively.

摘要: A device to detect the level of liquid metal (M) in a casting apparatus includes a box-like structure associated in correspondence with an upper end of a crystallizer. The box-like structure has a peripheral cavity inside in which a device for the generation and detection of a variable magnetic field is disposed. The device for the generation and detection extends for a segment beyond an inner corner of the crystallizer so as to face directly into the open top of the crystallizer.

摘要: An exemplary embodiment provides a method of eliminating a shrinkage cavity in a metal ingot cast by direct chill casting. The method involves casting an upright ingot having an upper surface at an intended height. Upon completion of the casting, the lower tip of the spout is maintained below the molten metal near the center of the upper surface. The metal flow through the spout is terminated and a partial shrinkage cavity is allowed to form as metal of the ingot shrinks and contracts. Before the partial cavity exposes the lower tip of the spout, the cavity is preferably over-filled with molten metal, while avoiding spillage of molten metal, and then the flow of metal through the spout is terminated. These steps are repeated until no further contraction of the metal causes any part of the upper surface to contract below the intended ingot height.

摘要: A device and method for measuring the surface level and/or the presence of a molten metal bath in a cooled container, particularly a crystallizer for a continuous casting process, comprising a source of an electromagnetic field, wherein said source of an electromagnetic field is a transmission coil fed with electrical energy at a predetermined frequency. The information on the level and/or the presence of said surface level is obtained by processing the total impedance (Z), as measured on said transmission coil, in order to calculate the contribution to said impedance (Z) of the currents induced in the walls of the crystallizer, which depend on temperature of the crystallizer and, from it, the value of said surface level and/or the presence of the molten metal bath.

摘要: The trouble free operation of a continuous casting process utilizing a moving electromagnetic field for levitation requires information of sufficient accuracy concerning the position and extent of the solidification front inside the continuous casting die. The method and structure according to the invention for monitoring the solidification process employs signals from at least two sensor coils arranged concentrically around the continuous casting die. These signals are fed to a measuring transducer and processed in an appropriate manner. The configuration of the sensor coils inside the levitation coil generating the moving field is particularly preferred.

摘要: The casting of several strands with a common puller unit is effected by a process which allows a high degree of operational reliability in its initial start-up phase. To accomplish this, slide gates or valves are throttled at a predetermined level provided in the lower area of a measuring section monitoring the levels in a group of molds and the strand-pulling drive is switched on and the slide gates of molds that have remained in the level below the level are closed no later than at a point when at least one of the actual levels in the molds is at another predetermined level which is below the optimum level. The rising of the levels in the molds may be controlled in accordance with preset rising curves.

摘要: A process for monitoring continuous casting molds is presented. A primary coil coaxially surrounding the continuous casting mold is powered with currents whose Fourier analysis includes several frequencies. Several secondary coils are also arranged coaxially between the primary coil and the mold and surround the mold. The secondary coils are placed around the liquid metal pool level region, with the secondary coil in the lowest location being located beneath the pool surface at all times and serving as a reference coil. The differences between the Fourier components of the signals measured on the various secondary coils and the reference coil are taken, related to the intensities in the primary coil, and analyzed by magnitude or phase. By comparison of the various signals, the presence of liquid metal or slag, the temperature prevailing in the particular region of the mold wall, are determined.
