    摘要: The invention relates to a method and a device of detecting the presence of slag in a shroud (4) through which molten metal passes from a ladle (2) to a tundish (6). A transmitting coil (20) generates an electromagnetic field. An induced voltage generated at a receiving coil (24) is compared with a defined voltage range. If the induced voltage has a value outside the defined voltage range it is indicative of the presence of slag. The coils (20,24) are arranged in an unmovable manner in relation to the shroud. The invention also relates to a casting plant.

    摘要: An apparatus for detecting slag outflow when a molten metal covered by molten slag is poured from one vessel to another by receiving the thermal radiation energy at the microwave frequencies emitted from the pouring stream of the molten metal from said one vessel to another to measure a change in thermal radiation energy caused by the difference in the emissivity of the molten metal and of the molten slag is disclosed. The apparatus comprises; a microwave-focusing mechanism which has a focal point at the measuring target point; a waveguide means one end of which is connected to said microwave-focusing mechanism and which receives the thermal radiation energy from said microwave-focusing mechanism; and a radiometer connected to the other end of said waveguide means to measure the thermal radiation energy at microwave frequencies received through said waveguide means.

    摘要: A method of determining disturbances when discharging molten metal from a metallurgical container having an outlet into a receiving container. In steps of this process, a real time video image of the teeming stream is monitored to detect the presence of a slag phase, or conditions conducive to the presence of such a phase in steel being transferred, the monitored images are processed to provide data used to assess the quantity of slag passed, parameters of data generated representing characteristics of the teeming stream image are compared with threshold values to generate at least one signal indicative of the passage of slag, and the threshold values are progressively adjusted responsive to data collected by monitoring plural parameters of the teeming operation selected from predicted teeming duration, weight of the receiving vessel, condition of means controlling teeming rate, and oxygen content of the molten steel.

    摘要: A compressed-air cooled transducer coil assembly for slag detector apparatus includes a refractory shield, top and bottom end blocks, a coil winding, and at least two spaced-apart guide bars. The shield may be positioned to coaxially surround the pour tube of a continuous steel caster so as to leave a space therebetween. The end pieces are connected to the shield. The coil winding is connected to the end blocks and is positioned so as to coaxially surround the shield leaving an air gap therebetween. The guide bars each have a bore whose lower end is attached to the bottom end block and whose middle portion projects into the space between the shield and the pour tube. The top and bottom end blocks have conduits which communicate with the air gap and the bores.

    摘要: A cold flake suppression method is provided. A molding device includes a sleeve, a tip, a sprue guide portion, a molding die, a sprue ring, a distributer, and a control device. The sprue guide portion includes a stamp portion, a runner portion, and a gate portion. The control device drives a supply device to slide the tip for molten metal to flow through the sleeve; sequentially calculates an amount of heat transfer changing continuously from the start of supply of molten metal until the tip slides to the position in FIG. 2, and calculates a total of the amounts as a total amount of heat transfer; and calculates a volume of the sprue guide portion based on information about the sprue guide portion input by an operator. Shapes of the sleeve and the sprue guide portion are determined to set a cold flake index equal to or less than 0.842.
