摘要: The invention relates to a station for transferring a metal melt from a melting furnace into a transport crucible. The station includes a docking chamber, which has a docking opening and is designed to be docked to a filling opening of the transport crucible a suctioning device, which is designed to suction a gas from the docking chamber or from the transport crucible docked to the docking chamber, and a suction pipe, which has a suction channel extending between an inlet opening and an outlet opening. The inlet opening is arranged outside the docking chamber and the outlet opening is arranged in such a way that a metal melt flowing through the suction channel and exiting from the outlet opening passes through the docking opening.

The transfer chamber is in fluid communication with the vessel so molten metal from the vessel is pulled through the vessel by the pump as it is degassed. This helps maintain a generally constant flow of molten metal through the degassing vessel. Other aspects relate to a system and method for efficiently performing maintenance on components positioned in a vessel.

摘要: A system for removing molten metal from a vessel is disclosed. The system includes a pump and a refractory casing that houses the pump. As the pump operates it moves molten metal upward through an uptake section of the casing until it reaches an outlet wherein it exits the vessel. The outlet may be attached to a launder. Another system uses a wall to divide a cavity of the chamber into two portions. The wall has an opening and a pump pumps molten metal from a first portion into a second portion until the level in the second portion reaches an outlet and exits the vessel.

摘要: A system and method for transferring molten metal from a vessel and into a launder is disclosed. The system includes at least a vessel for containing molten metal, an overflow (or dividing) wall, and a device or structure, such as a molten metal pump, for generating a stream of molten metal. The dividing wall divides the vessel into a first chamber and a second chamber, wherein part of the second chamber has a height H2. The device for generating a stream of molten metal, which is preferably a molten metal pump, is preferably positioned in the first chamber. When the device operates, it generates a stream of molten metal from the first chamber and into the second chamber. When the level of molten metal in the second chamber exceeds H2, molten metal flows out of the vessel and into the launder. The launder has a horizontal angle of between 0° and −10° to help prevent dross from being pulled by gravity into downstream vessels.

摘要: A metal component is produced using a casting-and-forming tool by casting a melt of a metal alloy into the casting-and-forming tool, wherein the melt is poured from above into a base part or reservoir of the casting-and-forming tool at a first pressure, applying pressure to the melt between the base part and an upper part while the melt is solidifying to a component, wherein the solidifying melt is pressurized at a second pressure, which is larger than the first pressure, when the melt is at least partly, i.e., mostly solidified to form a component compressing the component by relative movement of the base part to the upper part so as to compress the component with a third pressure, which is higher than the second pressure.
