    Abstract: A hole cutter has a cylindrical blade body including a cutting edge and one or more axially-elongated apertures formed within a side wall of the blade body. The axially-elongated aperture is configured to receive a lever, such as a screwdriver, therethrough. Each axially-elongated aperture includes a first fulcrum axially spaced adjacent to the cutting edge, a second fulcrum axially spaced further away from the cutting edge than the first fulcrum, and optionally a third fulcrum axially spaced between the first and second fulcrums. A lever, such as a screwdriver, can be inserted into the aperture and placed against each of the fulcrums to lever slugs out of the interior of the blade body.

    Abstract: There is provided a drill bit for cutting tiles comprising a hollow body portion bearing an annular cutting surface at one end and a wax plug located within the hollow body portion, wherein an internal wall of the hollow body portion has at least one region of reduced thickness so as to provide one or more channels along which melted wax can flow to reach cutting surface. The channels can be provided by an offset central passage within body portion, or as elongate grooves around the internal wall of the hollow body portion. The channels can be helical grooves.

    Abstract: A plug cutter is provided that has a main body with a shank extending from one end and plurality of cutting blades extending from the other end. The blades have a plurality of facets defining cutting edges for cutting and shaving stock material to form a plug.     Abstract: A cutter for use in fabricating dowels, plugs, or tenons has a hex-shaped shank and a body portion. The body portion includes a spur which is the first part of the cutter to contact the wood and which makes an initial depression into the wood. A cutting tooth has a cutting edge for cutting a trough into the wood and is the widest part of the cutter. The exterior surfaces of the cutter above the cutting tooth are formed at smaller radial distances and consequently have less, if not no, contact with the piece of wood being cut. The cutting tooth may be tapered along its height whereby the bottom of the tooth would be the thickest part of the tooth and would have the most contact with the wood. Also, the portion of the cutter trailing the spur may be formed with teeth and flutes thereby reducing the amount of contact between the cutter and the wood. By reducing the amount of contact between the wood and the cutter, the cutter has a reduced amount of friction with the wood. Since a significant concern with conventional cutters is the build-up of heat, by reducing friction the cutters can also reduce the amount of heat generated and reduce any chance that the wood or the cutter becomes burned or otherwise damaged by the heat. Furthermore, the cutters are more efficient to operate since they require less torque and consume less electricity.

    Abstract: A hole saw includes a cylindrical body disposed along an axis of rotation with a side wall extending axially from a cap end to a cutting end. The cutting end includes a plurality of cutting teeth. The hole saw also includes a cap coupled to the cap end of the cylindrical body. The side wall defines an elongated aperture configured to receive a tool for removing work piece plugs from within the cylindrical body. The elongated aperture has a first slot portion adjacent the cutting edge. The first slot portion is oriented perpendicular to the axis of rotation. The elongated aperture also has a second slot portion connected to the first slot portion and extending from the first slot portion toward the cap end. The second slot portion is oriented at an oblique angle relative to the axis of rotation.
