摘要： A butt flare reducing apparatus for logs is provided. The apparatus includes a machine frame, a stator ring assembly fixedly coupled to the machine frame, and a flare reducing tool adjustment assembly movably coupled to the stator ring assembly. The apparatus further includes an actuator coupled on one end to the machine frame and on the other end to the flare reducing tool adjustment assembly to move the flare reducing tool adjustment assembly between the opposing end positions, and a rotor assembly rotatably coupled to the stator ring assembly. The rotor assembly includes a rotor frame and at least one flare reducing tool movably coupled to the rotor frame to translate linearly toward and away from a longitudinal axis of rotation in direct correlation to movement of the actuator and flare reducing tool adjustment assembly to adjust a log processing diameter. Related methods are also provided.

To control the radial movement, a secondary plate is driven in rotation coaxially to the main plate. The secondary plate including a device for actuating tool supports, arranged so that the positions of the tool supports depend on the relative angular position between the main plate and the secondary plate and, to permanently adjust the radial positioning of the tools during the rotation of the main plate, the relative angular position is modified.

摘要： A dado lathe is provided for use with a table saw in performing numerous cutting operations on a piece of wood stock. The dado lathe device includes a pair of parallel, spaced apart guide rails upon which a frame is slidably mounted. The frame includes vertically and longitudinally adjustable headstock and tailstock spindles for rotatably supporting the wood stock. A drive system selectively rotates the wood stock while moving the frame longitudinally along the guide rails. Using the dado lathe device, a square wood stock can be turned to a round wood stock, spiral and grooves can be cut in the wood stock, the wood stock can be tapered, and beading and reeding can be cut along the length of the wood stock.

摘要： In the apparatus a workpiece is rotated in a fixed position about an axis. A template is aligned with and spaced to one side of this axis. A platform is positioned above the workpiece and hinged on the other side of the axis so that it can be pivoted and thereby raised and lowered relative to the workpiece. The platform can also be caused to move along the axis of the workpiece and as this occurs, a tracing pin on the platform causes the platform to be raised and lowered in response to changes in the upper contour of the template. A rotary saw or like rotary cutting blade device is mounted on the platform above the workpiece so that the cutting blade can be brought into contact with and moved along the upper portion of the rotating workpiece to cause the workpiece to be shaped. Preferably the blade and the workpiece rotate in the same direction so that they are moving in opposite directions at the point or zone where they contact each other.

摘要： A machine for processing wood logs for construction of log houses. The machine includes a power feed to load the logs into a self-centering device. A carriage assembly is centered about the log and the log is mounted in the carriage on powered centers so that the log can be rotated. The carriage travels longitudinally on tracks past one, or a plurality of cutters, which as the log rotates cuts the log down to a selected diameter. After the log is cut to diameter it is again passed longitudinally along the tracks and two cutters are positioned at equal distance above and below the axis of the log to cut tongues and grooves on the top and bottom of the log, respectively. Means are provided for cutting a saddle notch underneath the log, to cut the logs to precise length, and to cut a vertical notch in each end for the purpose of joining logs end to end. Means are provided for rapid removal of the chips cut from the logs.
