    Abstract: In an injection molding nozzle with a nozzle head including at least one discharge opening and a closure element for closing the discharge opening movably supported in the nozzle head for closing the discharge in order to control the supply of melt material to a communication opening in an injection mold, the closure element is operable by a drive mechanism provided with a short stroke actuating means for displacing the closure element in a direction opposite to the closing direction of the closure element by a predetermined short distance so as to automatically retract the closure element by the predetermined short distance when it is no longer biased by the actuating means in the closing direction.

    Abstract: A multiple closure pin nozzle assembly serves for the simultaneous charging of several individual molds in an injection molding mold and has two or more closure pins arranged in a common housing and driven by a common piston drive. Each closure pin closes a nozzle orifice arranged relative thereto and can be pulled back from this in order to allow the injection of molding material. In the region of the respective nozzle mouth, a heating device is arranged. In the common housing, feed channels are provided with branches which lead to the individual closure pins and their mouths. The common housing is split up below this common feed channel and its branches into separate housing portions connected with the common housing and each accommodating an individual closure pin and nozzle mouth. The housing portions have walls which run around the pins and interspaces between these walls to enable supports for the multiple nozzle assembly to be introduced below the common housing region between the housing portions.

    Abstract: A pressurized-fluid-operated actuator has multiple piston surfaces for providing increased output force. The actuator includes a stationary cylinder that contains a movable cylinder having multiple inner chambers separated by stationary inner pistons. The inner chambers are in fluid communication with extension and retraction ports provided in the stationary cylinder wall. Introduction of pressurized fluid into one port causes the fluid pressure to act on “n” piston surface(s) to retract the movable cylinder. Introduction of pressurized fluid into the other port causes the fluid pressure to act on “n+1” piston surfaces to provide an increased output force without increasing the diameters of the cylinders and without increasing the pressure of the fluid.

    Abstract: A pressurized-fluid-operated actuator has multiple piston surfaces for providing increased output force.     Abstract: An injection molding apparatus includes a valve support structure having an internal channel for directing a flow of melted resin to a mold cavity. A first valve actuator is supported by the valve support structure and is operatively connected to a valve stem. The valve stem extends at least partially through the internal channel through a valve aperture. A bushing is fitted in the valve aperture. A second valve actuator is located adjacent the first valve actuator. The second valve actuator is operatively connected to a sleeve member with a hollow interior dimensioned to slidingly engage the valve stem and an exterior surface dimensioned for sliding movement in the bushing. The second valve actuator selectively moves the sleeve member between a retracted position where the sleeve member moves toward the bushing and an extended position where the sleeve moves away from of the bushing.

    Abstract: A pin closure nozzle for injection molding molds has several working pistons acting on the same closure pin. These working pistons are arranged on a common throughgoing piston rod. Each piston rides in its own chamber and the piston rod passes through and is slidingly guided in openings in the chamber floors.
