    摘要: An injection molding machine includes a machine base supporting a first platen and at least a second platen for supporting respective mold sections, and a part handling apparatus for manipulating parts associated with molded part production. The part handling apparatus includes an upright supporting an end-of-arm tooling and an adjustable mount adjustably coupling the upright to the machine base. The adjustable mount includes at least a first linear rail extending parallel to the machine axis and structurally integrated with, and fixed relative to, the machine base at an elevation below an uppermost extent of the platens. The adjustable mount further includes a carriage fixed to the upright, the carriage adjustably coupled to the first rail.

    摘要: An injection molding machine has a pedestal having front and rear vertical walls extending in a longitudinal direction and defining interior chambers, a mold carried by the pedestal, a clamping unit mounted on the pedestal and horizontally operable to open and close the mold, an injecting unit including a plasticizing cylinder and being mounted on the pedestal, two horizontal carrying bars, one being a front bar and the other being a rear bar, interconnected by crosspieces and supported by the pedestal, and a front protective covering carried by the pedestal and including a stationary protective carrier and two vertical protective doors. There are further provided stationary tracks mounted on the front bar and being adapted to guide the protective doors in the longitudinal direction of the injection molding machine. Further, track rails are mounted on each of the carrying bars and extending at least in part above the clamping unit. A first carriage is mounted on the track rails for travel thereon and an additional carriage is supported on the first carriage and includes a hoisting device.

    摘要: A picker for removing articles from a remote location, including an open frame carrier secured to a molding machine for linear movement along support rods in a direction perpendicular to the direction of movement of one of the mold platens, i.e., a Y-axis direction, under control of a first fluid cylinder. The carrier, in turn, mounts a carriage for linear movement in a direction normal thereto, i.e. an X-axis direction, under the control of a second fluid cylinder. The carriage includes a third fluid cylinder for controlling linear movement in a third direction perpendicular to the first and second directions, i.e. a Z-axis direction. Depending from the carriage is a gripping unit coupled to the third cylinder, the gripping unit including a picker arm under control of a fourth fluid cylinder for movement in the X-axis direction and which picker arm terminates at its inner end in a pair of jaws or fingers, the opening and closing of which are under control of a fifth cylinder. The carriage also includes a mechanism for rotating the picker arm about the Z-axis. A limit switch is mounted on the mold machine for actuation when the movable mold platen obtains its open position. Actuation of the limit switch initiates the operation of the logic circuit, which automatically controls the operation of the picker, by operating the fluid cylinders in a predetermined sequence, thereby removing the article from a remote location and then returning the picker to its initial state.

    摘要: The picker includes an open frame carrier secured to a molding machine for linear movement along support rods in the direction of movement of one of the mold platens, i.e., a Y-axis direction, under control of a first fluid cylinder. The carrier, in turn, mounts a carriage for linear movement in a direction normal thereto, i.e., an X-axis direction, also under the control of a second fluid cylinder. Depending from the carriage is a picker arm under control of a third fluid cylinder for movement in the X-axis direction and which picker arm terminates at its inner end in a pair of jaws or fingers, the opening and closing of which are under control of a fourth cylinder. A limit switch is mounted on the mold machine for actuation when the movable mold platen obtains its open position. A pair of air switches are carried by the carrier. When the mold is fully open, the limit switch is closed by the movable platen to actuate the first air switch which, in turn, actuates the second and third cylinders for movement of the jaws along the X-axis and between the mold faces. Toward the end of the movement in the X-direction, the first cylinder is actuated to move the jaws in the Y-direction. At the end of the carriage movement, the carriage actuates an air switch which closes the jaws about the article. The carrier is then automatically retracted after a time delay in the X and Ydirections. The second air switch is then reset and opens the jaws whereby the article grasped is dropped onto a chute.
