摘要: Assembly (30) of a preform (32) and a station (34) for hydroforming a container from the preform, wherein: the preform has a neck (44) extending along an axial direction (D), the neck comprising a support ring (46), and a finish (48), the station comprises a mold (36) in which the preform is placed, the support ring being in contact with a support surface (56) of the mold, the station comprises an injection nozzle that is movable along the axial direction with respect to the mold from a retracted position to an intermediate position, wherein a contact is established between a first contact surface (72) of the nozzle and the finish, and further to an injection position, wherein a second contact surface (74) of the nozzle abuts on an abutment surface (76) and the neck is axially compressed between the support surface and the first contact surface, the first contact surface being less deformable than the neck in the axial direction, and the station is adapted for injecting a liquid from the nozzle into the preform when the nozzle is in the injection position, and the abutment surface is fixed along the axial direction with respect to the mold at least during the injection.

摘要: A method of forming a plastic container from a preform. The method comprises injecting a forming liquid into the preform at a predetermined system pressure range, a predetermined flow rate, and a predetermined duration sufficient to create a pressure spike at a peak pressure. The peak pressure being greater than the system pressure to urge the preform into the mold cavity, thus creating enhanced container definition, reduced post mold shrinkage, lower residual material stresses, and/or an improved transfer of the mold geometry and engraving to the final formed container.

摘要: In various aspects, the present disclosure provides a structural component. The structural component includes a body defining at least one hollow region. The body includes a carbon fiber composite including a plurality of substantially aligned continuous carbon fibers. The plurality of substantially aligned carbon fibers defines a major axis and a second axis perpendicular to the major axis. The plurality of substantially aligned continuous carbon fibers includes a plurality of discrete termination points staggered with respect to the second axis. Methods of making such structural components, including by blow molding and compression molding are also provided.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a method of fabricating a component of a solar energy system. The method comprises the step of providing a tube. The tube comprises a material that deforms when at least a length of the tube is exposed to a suitable difference in pressure between an interior portion of the length of the tube and an exterior portion of the length of the tube. The method also comprises providing a die having a cavity arranged to receive the length of the tube. The cavity defines a shape that is related to that of the component of the solar energy system. Further, the method comprises positioning the length of the tube in the cavity of the die. The method also comprises increasing a relative pressure of a fluid within the interior portion of the length of the tube relative to a pressure within the cavity and outside the interior portion of the length of the tube such that at least a portion of the length of the tube expands at to a shape that is related to that of the component of the solar energy system.

摘要: A method of hydroforming a container from a preform. During the method, an injection nozzle is moved from a retracted position, where the nozzle is spaced away from the neck of the preform, to an intermediate position, where contact is established between a first contact surface of the nozzle and the finish of the preform. The nozzle is then moved from the intermediate position to an injection position, where a second contact surface of the nozzle abuts an abutment surface and the neck is axially compressed. With the nozzle in the injection position, a liquid is injected from the nozzle into the preform causing the preform to expand and form the container.

摘要: An apparatus and method for simultaneously forming and filling a plastic container is provided. A mold cavity defines an internal surface and is adapted to accept a preform. A pressure source is a servo motor system that includes an inlet. The servo motor system is operable to draw liquid through the inlet and urge it into the preform. A blow nozzle may be adapted to receive the liquid from the pressure source and transfer the liquid at high pressure into the preform thereby urging the preform to expand toward the internal surface of the mold cavity and create a resultant container. The liquid remains within the container as an end product.
