摘要： A printing roller apparatus and method are for use with ink and a gel carried on an operatively rotating casting drum. The apparatus and method include a print roller and a drive member. The print roller has an exterior print surface rollably engaging the gel. The drive member directly engages the casting drum and operatively rotates the print roller, such that the print surface moves coincident with the gel carried on the operatively rotating casting drum. An even distribution of the ink is transferred from the print surface to the gel, so as to clearly print at least one print indicium thereon.

摘要： A forme cylinder is supported and adjusted in a printing group of a rotary printing press, which group includes a transfer cylinder and a counter-pressure cylinder, which two cylinders include interacting support elements. The forme cylinder does not include a support element which interacts with the transfer cylinder. The forme cylinder has a shaft distance that can be adjusted during printing to adjust a contact pressure between the forme cylinder and the transfer cylinder. The forme cylinder may be covered with a waterless printing forme. The contact pressure between the forme cylinder and the transfer cylinder can be adjusted to a property, such as the compressibility, of the waterless printing forme.

摘要： Two parallel cylindrical rolls in a punching, stamping, printing, smoothing or like machine for running webs of paper or the like carry pairs of hardened bearing rings which have complementary conical surfaces with the conical surfaces of rings for one of the rolls tapering in one direction and with the conical surfaces of rings for the other roll tapering in the opposite direction but at the same angle. This ensures that the rings for one of the rolls are in linear contact with the rings for the other roll. One of the rolls is movable radially of the other roll to change the pressure upon the web which is running through the nip of the rolls, and one of the rolls is movable axially of the other roll to compensate for wear upon the conical surfaces of the bearing rings. All such adjustments can be carried out while the machine employing the rolls is in use.

Each support member of the second processing cylinder has an annular segment, a linear guide, a guide body fixed to the machine frame and a manipulator. Each annular segment contacts a respective support member of the first processing cylinder, and each annular segment is linearly displaceable along the linear guide by a respective manipulator. The processing unit permits a gap dimension between the processing cylinders of the processing unit to be adjustable in a simple, exact manner with precise repeatability. A label printing machine having the processing unit is also provided.

摘要： An anilox printing unit includes, as inking unit rolls, an ink applicator roll and an engraved roll mounted in rapid change roll sockets, for removing the engraved roll from the roll sockets and inserting another engraved roll into the roll sockets by an operator. The engraved roll is hollow and a temperature control fluid flows therethrough. The engraved roll and the ink applicator roll each have bearer rings. A device which presses the bearer rings of one inking unit roll against the bearer rings of the other inking unit roll has springs for compensating for diameter differences as a result of manufacturing tolerances between the bearer rings of the engraved roll and the bearer rings of the other engraved roll and for compensating for thermally induced diameter changes of the bearer rings of the engraved roll. A printing press having an anilox printing unit is also provided.
