    摘要: A method for controlling a roller line, preferably a cold roller line, which has one or more roller stands each with two working rollers, which form a roller gap, through which a roller band is transportable. One or both working rollers can shift relative to the other, so that the roller gap is adjustable. The method includes making available a reference speed, which is a parameter for controlling the roller line, measurement of speed of the roller band before the inlet into the roller gap, measurement of the thickness of the roller band before the inlet into the roller gap, and adjustment of the roller gap of one or more roller frames in the roller line on the basis of measured speed and thickness before the inlet into the roller gap as well as the reference speed.

    摘要: A gap control device for a Pilger die assembly of cold Pilger mills. The gap control device can independently control the height of a pair of bearing blocks which axially support an upper die. A lower plate has first and second receiving holes which respectively correspond to the upper portions of a pair of bearing blocks. First and second wedge plates are fitted into the receiving holes, and respectively have inclined surfaces on the upper portions thereof. First and second adjustment blocks respectively have inclined guide surfaces to be in surface contact with the inclined surfaces of the wedge plates, and are movable horizontally with respect to the lower plate. An upper plate is assembled to the upper portion of the lower plate to cover the adjustment blocks. First and second adjustment bolts allow the first and second adjustment blocks to be respectively manipulated in a horizontal direction.

    摘要: Data representing the axial distance of the center of each groove of a work roll from a first reference location on the work roll is determined and stored in the memory of a data processing system. The work rolls are then mounted in the roll stand and the grooves of a selected "setup" roll pass are brought into alignment with each other. Thereafter, the roll stand is placed on the rolling line, the setup pass is aligned with the mill passline in the case of vertical stands, or with the mill center line in the case of horizontal roll stands, and data representing the relative positions of the work rolls to the roll stand and of the roll stand to another reference location is obtained and stored in the memory of the data processing system. This data is then employed by the system to calculate and automatically effect adjustments to the roll stand and work rolls in order to precisely align other roll passes with the mill passline or center line. Time consuming manual adjustments and repetitive trial runs are avoided, with concomitant reductions in mill down time.

    摘要: A positioning actuator for use between a working-roll journal block and a roll-stand frame has a housing, a worm shaft rotatable in the housing about a main axis and formed with two axially offset worms, and respective worm wheels meshing with the worms and rotatable in the housing about respective parallel axes lying in a plane parallel to but offset from the main axis. The worm wheels are each formed internally centered on the respective axis with a screwthread. Respective pusher rods extending along the worm-wheel axes through the worm wheels are each formed with an external screwthread complementary to and meshing with the respective internal screwthread. The rods and housing are coupled together so as to inhibit rotation of the rods about the respective worm-wheel axes while permitting movement of the rods along the respective worm-wheel axes. The screwthreads are of such hand that rotation of the worm shaft in one direction about the main axis moves the rods along the respective worm-wheel axes in one direction while opposite worm-shaft rotation moves the pusher rods axially oppositely.
