摘要: A post-processing device includes a processing tray on which a medium on which recording was performed by a recording unit is loaded, a rear end alignment unit that aligns a rear end (an example of an end portion) of the medium on the processing tray, a post-processing unit that performs post-processing on the medium aligned by the rear end alignment unit, and a pressing member that presses the rear end of the medium. The post-processing unit is configured to be movable. The pressing member is provided to be rotatable in conjunction with movement of the post-processing unit, in a state in which the pressing member is in contact with the medium aligned by the rear end alignment unit.

摘要: According to one aspect, a web handling system comprises a plurality of cross-grooved idler rollers, an imaging drum, a nip roller adjacent the imaging drum and forming a nip therewith, and a spreader roller disposed between the plurality of idler rollers and the nip roller. Each idler roller is disposed no more than a first distance from an adjacent idler roller, spreader roller, and nip roller and the spreader roller is disposed no more than a second distance from the nip. The first distance is in a range of 38 to 28 inches, 36 to 30 inches, or 35 to 33 inches and the second distance is in a range of 6 to 11 inches, 6.5 to 9 inches, or 7.0 to 8.5 inches.

摘要: A method prints on a printing material using inks and dampening fluids. An ink printing machine uses ink print heads to apply an image to a front side of the printing material and a dampening fluid print head to apply a dampening fluid image, thus reducing or avoiding water-related cockling of the printing material. The method includes: providing the image to be printed, calculating n different color separation matrices, calculating n ink amount matrices An from the color separation matrices, and calculating a total ink amount matrix A. For every element of the total ink amount matrix: calculating a matrix B as B=G*A, with a weighting matrix G and determining the maximum of the matrix B, calculating a dampening fluid matrix C, calculating the dampening fluid image from the dampening fluid image matrix C, and printing the ink image and the dampening fluid image.

摘要: A printer includes a corrugating section disposed on an upstream side of a line head, the corrugating section being configured to alternately form crests and troughs in a sheet in a width direction which intersects a medium transport direction, a relaxing section that can be switched between a relaxing position in which the corrugations formed by the corrugating section are relaxed and a maintaining position in which the corrugations are maintained with respect to the sheet on a downstream side of the line head between the line head and branch points of transport paths and a controller configured to control the switching of the relaxing section between the relaxing position and the maintaining position. The controller switches the relaxing section depending on a transport destination of the recorded sheet.

摘要: An inkjet printer can include an inkjet printhead to print an image on a print medium, and a dryer to reduce or remove moisture from the image. A post-printing treatment fluid can also be present which can include water and a flatness control agent, the flatness control agent including an organic solvent with three or more hydroxyl groups, and a vapor pressure less than 2×10−4 mmHg. A fluid dispenser can be included to apply the post-printing treatment fluid on the print medium after the moisture from the image is reduced or removed. Additionally, the printer can include a mechanical calendering device to apply pressure to the print medium after application and while the print medium is still moistened by the post-printing treatment fluid.

The projection is configured to be capable of retaining a state of regulating vertically upward movement of the front end portion of the sheet being discharged from the discharge port.

摘要: A medium flattening method, when a medium is transported by being adhered to an adhesive layer which is on a surface of a transport belt, includes detecting a presence or absence of floating being generated in the medium on the transport belt using a sensor, executing a process for flattening to flatten the floating in the medium in the case where the floating exists, and transporting the medium, where the floating is eliminated using the process for the flattening, to a liquid discharge region of a liquid discharge section. The executing of the process for the flattening includes executing the process for the flattening with regard to the medium and liquid discharge with regard to the medium in parallel.
