Abstract:
A device for locking wheel rims for vehicles on repair workshop machines, has a supporting structure rotating around a work axis with a repair workshop machine or the like and has a resting portion for a wheel rim for vehicles, a locking element removably connected to a fastening element on the supporting structure, and a movement arrangement. The movement arrangement has a main actuator cylinder with fluid operation suitable for moving the fastening element from a release position, wherein the locking element is disengaged from the rim, to a retention position, wherein the locking element is engaged on the rim, an auxiliary actuator cylinder with fluid operation suitable for moving the fastening element from the release position to the retention position of the rim, and a feeding mouth for a fluid connected to one of the main actuator cylinder and the auxiliary actuator cylinder.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a mounting device for mounting or demounting a tyre of a vehicle onto or from a rim, with at least a rotating body which rotates about an axis.
Abstract:
A tire/wheel bead entrapment remover is disclosed. The tire/wheel bead entrapment remover includes one or more working assemblies having a circumferential perimeter that substantially engages a tire. The one ore more working assemblies axially-moves one of a wheel of the tire mounted to the wheel while axially-fixing the other of the tire or the wheel to remove one or more entrapments between a bead of the tire and a beat seat of the wheel. According to an embodiment, a tire/wheel bead entrapment remover includes one or more wheels that engages an outboard surface or an inboard surface of a tire mounted to a wheel. The radial axis extends through the one or more wheels. The radial axis traverses a radial line that radially extends from a common axis of rotation of the tire and the wheel. A method for removing an entrapment from a tire/wheel assembly is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A tool for use in installing the bead seat band (44) and rim flange (42) of a multiple piece wheel as part of a tire changing or servicing operation that includes a tool body (10) having a corner with a first elongated surface (34) at the corner adapted to engage a rim flange (42) and a bead seat band (44) in an axial direction. The tool includes a second elongated surface (36) at the corner adjacent the first surface (34) at an acute angle to the first surface and adapted to engage the rim flange (42) in an axial direction at a location spaced from the intended point of engagement of the ring flange (42) by the first surface (34). The first and second surfaces (34), (36) define a notch (32) opening away from the body (10) and a tool mounting fixture (26) is connected to the body (10) generally opposite the notch (32).
Abstract:
The machine for dismounting and fitting tires comprises a chuck which is rotatable about a rotation axis, on which a motor vehicle wheel can be fitted. Two arms are mounted either side of the chuck, the arms being hinged about two pivots superiorly bearing two tools able, by effect of rotations of the arms in both directions about the pivots, to move along at least one transversal plane to a wheel mounted on a chuck. Each tool is destined to operate contactingly with a bead of the tire. The arms are connected one to another by a length-adjustable con rod, hinged to the arms.
Abstract:
A helper arm for use in conjunction with a rim-holding tire changer for assisting with the mounting/demounting of a tire. The helper arm comprises an arm having one end attached to a support device and an opposite end operably attached to an adjustable vertical member. The arm is preferably jointed and pivotally attached to the support device. Controls are provided to enable vertical adjustment of the vertical member. The vertical member may comprise a cylinder assembly having a cylinder shaft that may be moved up or down into operable engagement with the tire and wheel rim. A contact block is attached to the lower end of the cylinder. The contact block includes an attachment head configured to enable attachment of the block to the vertical member. Further, the contact block includes a shoulder having a rim-stop surface, a hook member opposite the shoulder, a heel extending downwardly from the body of the block and an instep along the underside of the block.
Abstract:
The invention provides a machine for automatically fitting tires to rims, comprising a continuously driven endless conveyor (1), a first feed device (3) provided at the entrance of the conveyor for placing rims (A) one after the other flat on the carrier side (4) thereof, a second feed device (5) situated downstream of the first one for placing a tire (B) of corresponding size aslant on each rim, a tire-fitting head (6) situated downstream of the second feed device for fitting the tire to the rims, and means (7) for discharging the tired rims. This machine is characterized in that it comprises adjustment means (16) disposed upstream of the tire-fitting head (6), for automatically and continuously bringing the upper face of rims (A) to a constant predetermined height with respect to the carrier side (4) of the conveyor (1).
Abstract:
An adaptor for use with a tire changing stand to permit the latter to be used in the changing of tires mounted on rims of a decorative type without marring the same. The adaptor includes a plate having a plurality of bores for receiving lugs which, in turn, may be engaged in the old holes of the rim. A unique configuration of the bores on the plate allows the adaptor to be used with a wide variety of rim sizes.
