A non-rail-bound vehicle, truck or bus, includes a current collector feeding electrical energy from an overhead line installation having a contact wire. The collector has a contact strip with a working region contacting the contact wire. An actuating device coupled to the collector adjusts the contact strip. The contact strip is horizontal and adjustable transversely to a vehicle longitudinal axis. A sensor senses the position of the vehicle relative to the contact wire. A control device connected to the sensor and the actuating device actuates the actuating device based on the sensed vehicle position, so that the contact strip maintains contact with the contact wire within its working range. The vehicle thus reliably maintains contact with the contact wire through the collector during operation on multilane roadways with an at least partially electrified lane, even at relatively high speeds of, for example, 80 to 100 km/h.

A non-rail-bound vehicle, in particular a truck or a bus, has a current collector for supplying electric energy from a two-pole overhead conductor with contact wires forming feed and return conductors. The wires are contacted by contact strips of the current collector. The current collector has a linkage that supports a rocker arrangement on the contact-wire side. The rocker arrangement has the contact strips, and is coupled to an adjusting device on the vehicle side for carrying out an adjusting movement of the rocker arrangement relative to the vehicle, transversely to a vehicle longitudinal axis. A vibration damper is configured to damp an intrinsic rocker arrangement vibration which can be stimulated in the adjusting movement direction. The current collector of the vehicle can thus be laterally adjusted in a short adjusting time in the event of steering imprecisions in order to ensure reliable contact with the overhead conductor.

An object of the present invention is to realize a structure able to well retain contact performance between an overhead line and a slider 7b, across the entire lengthwise direction of the slider 7b. The slider 7b formed of slider elements 34a and 34b divided in the crosswise direction of a vehicle, is supported on the upper surface of a slider support body 9. A center support member 12 forming the slider support body 9 is elastically deformed downward in a concaved shape across the longitudinal direction, due to a load applied due to contact between the overhead lines and the slider 7b. Also, together with this, both ends of the center support member 12 are supported on a shoe body 3a so as to allow free oscillation via the respective end section support members 13. As a result, even if the overhead lines are positioned on both of the end sections in the lengthwise direction of this slider 7b, the slider 7b is able to track the movement of the overhead lines due to elastic deformation of the center support member 12 and to the rising and falling of the center support member 12, and hence the above object can be achieved.
