摘要: A windshield assembly comprises a support panel, a windshield, and a frame, surrounding the windshield. The frame comprises a frame inboard leg, which is in contact with an inboard windshield surface. A hinge pivotally couples a frame-inboard-leg top portion of the frame inboard leg to the support panel and has a pivot axis. A channel is provided in the support panel. At least a portion of the frame-inboard-leg bottom portion, at least a portion of the frame-inboard-leg first lateral portion, and at least a portion of the frame-inboard-leg second lateral portion are located in the channel. The channel comprises a channel base leg. A seal is located in the channel between the channel base leg and the frame inboard leg.

An aircraft window shade includes a plurality of blinds coupled to a wire loop, a drive shaft with a gear coupled to the wire loop, and a rotatable dial that interconnects with the gear such that rotation of the dial alters a pitch of the blinds. A window shade system for directing and blocking light from an aircraft window includes a plurality of blinds coupled to a pulley assembly for adjusting a pitch of the blinds, a handle assembly for raising/lowering the blinds, and a carriage assembly for securing the blinds.

摘要: A system for monitoring performance of an aircraft windshield includes a sensor comprising a sensory contact and an evaluation unit. The sensory contact is in physical contact with one or more components of the windshield, and generates a signal representative of the performance of the component(s) of the windshield. An electrical connector is secured to the surface of the windshield facing the interior of the aircraft. The signal from the sensory contact passes through the connector to the evaluation unit. The evaluation unit acts on the signal to determine the performance of the component(s) of the windshield, wherein the evaluation unit is spaced from and out of physical contact with the windshield and the electrical connector, and is in electrical contact with the electrical connector.

The aircraft includes a camera configured to acquire an image of the passenger, and a control module configured to at least receive the image of the passenger. The control module is configured to receive non-tactile gesture preference data and dominant hand data, and access a non-tactile gesture data store that includes a plurality of images of non-tactile hand signals or non-tactile hand gestures. Based on the foregoing, the control module is configured to generate non-tactile gesture data in accordance with and indicative of a non-tactile hand signal or a non-tactile gesture made by the passenger. And the control module is configured to control one or more cabin systems including in at least one instance the passenger service unit based on the non-tactile gesture data.
