    Abstract: A storage container includes a base having side walls and end walls extending upwardly from the base. Lid halves are hingeably connected to upper edges of the side walls. A security recess is formed in the side walls adjacent to each hinge and corresponds with a security tab projecting from the lid halves preventing vertical movement of the outer edge of the lid half when the lid is in the closed position. The lid halves also include a lip adjacent to the hinge and upper and lower leaves that overlap with the opposing lid half to prevent moisture from seeping into the storage container.

    Abstract: A container for housing produce comprising a generally rectangular bottom, generally rectangular opposed first and second side and end walls extending upwardly and outwardly from the bottom, and a pivot member on an upper edge of the first side wall. A lid comprising two panels is provided, each panel having first and second side edges and a hinge edge, the first side edges being detachably and pivotally secured to the pivot member. A hinge operatively connects the hinge edges of the two panels. Resilient flanges are provided on the second side edges of the panels to releasably engage shoulders formed on an upper edge of the second side wall when the lid is closed. To nest multiple containers one within another, the lid is removed from the side wall, folded 180° about its hinge, rotated 90° and placed in the bottom of the container. Another container is then placed in the container and the process is repeated.

    Abstract: A multi-purpose container, such as for storing and transporting produce, includes a bottom surface, a first pair of opposed walls integrally joined with the bottom surface and extending upwardly therefrom, and a second pair of opposed walls integrally joined with the bottom surface and extending upwardly therefrom. The first and second pairs of opposed walls are integrally joined with each other to define, along with the bottom surface, a storage area. The bottom surface has a ridge that includes at least one vertical rib that extends along the bottom surface between one of the first and second pairs of opposed walls. The rib has an upper end that is covered by a top layer so as to define a smooth profile along the bottom surface. Therefore, the ridge provides reinforcement to the container while minimizing the potential for damaging produce stored and transported therein.

    Abstract: A container comprises a box having a base with upstanding side and end walls defining an open top. A lid is mounted on the box, the lid being movable between a closed position, in which the lid covers the open top of the box, and an open position. The lid comprises two substantially identical end portions. Each lid portion is mounted on the box by a hinge to enable it to pivot about an axis defined by the hinges. The hinges are movable relative to the box to permit a sliding movement of each lid portion relative to the box. The lid portions are adapted to be moved to a position in which the lid portions abut each other, the lid portions then serving to cover the open top of the box. The lid portions may be secured together in the abutting condition.

    Abstract: Exemplary embodiments provide a sheet to form a lid to substantially close a container. The sheet comprises a rectangular base having opposing side edges, opposing end edges, an upper surface and a lower surface. At least one notch is included on each of the side edges, where the notches correspond to a protrusion on an upper surface of two side walls of the container. A portion of the lower surface of the sheet at the side edges are configured to engage with the upper surface of the two side walls of the container. A foldable flap extends outwardly from each of the two end edges. The foldable flaps are configured to fold downwardly and engage against end walls of the container. The rectangular base has a thickness of at least 0.125 inches to support weight of items placed on the upper surface of the rectangular base without collapsing.
