Abstract:
A slider moving in a sliding direction between first and second positions shifts a second path-defining member, relative to a first path-defining member, between first and second states. A pair of movable members each disposed on a corresponding side of a slider in a width direction is movable individually in the sliding direction to shift between third and fourth states. The movable members, when both in the third state, position the slider to the first position and, when both in the fourth state, position the slider to the second position. Each movable member supports a corresponding widthwise end of the slider immovably in the sliding direction and movably in the width direction. A support frame supporting the second path-defining member supports a widthwise central portion of the slider movably in the sliding direction and rotatably on a plane parallel to the sliding direction and the width direction.
Abstract:
A sheet feeder includes a sheet feeding unit configured to feed a sheet from a sheet storage case in a sheet feeding direction orthogonal to a loading direction in which the sheet storage case is loaded into an apparatus main body, and a conveying guide configured to guide the sheet fed by the sheet feeding unit. The conveying guide includes a first guide segment included in the apparatus main body and a second guide segment included in the sheet storage unit. The sheet feeder further includes an edge guide member disposed at an end of the first guide segment. The edge guide member has a guide surface that allows reaction force including a directional force component acting upward and a directional force component acting in a direction opposite to the sheet feeding direction to be generated when the sheet partly projecting from the sheet storage case abuts the guide surface.
Abstract:
A sheet conveying device includes a conveyor, a curved conveyance passage, a conveyance sensor, and processing circuitry. The conveyor conveys a sheet. The sheet is conveyed by the conveyor along the curved conveyance passage. The conveyance sensor detects a presence of the sheet and is disposed at a curved position of the conveyance passage. The processing circuitry determines clogging of the sheet from an output result of the conveyance sensor. When a specific type of the sheet is conveyed, the processing circuitry stops determination of clogging of the sheet for a period of time from when the conveyance sensor detects passage of a leading end of the sheet to when a trailing end of the sheet passes the conveyance sensor.
Abstract:
A sheet conveyance device includes a reversing conveyance portion and a conveyance guide member. A sheet from a sheet reversing portion travels into and out of the reversing conveyance portion to be switched back so that the conveyance direction of the sheet is switched. The conveyance guide member is provided in the reversing conveyance portion, and has a sheet conveyance face facing the bottom face of the sheet passing through the reversing conveyance portion. The sheet conveyance face has one or more curved portions curved in the up-down direction as viewed from the width direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction of the sheet, and curves the sheet along the curved portion.
Abstract:
A mandrel cupping assembly for releasably engaging the unsupported ends of a plurality of mandrels disposed on a web winding turret assembly is disclosed. The mandrel cupping assembly comprises a cupping arm turret, a mandrel cup and cupping arm cooperatively associated with each mandrel, an outer ring guide disposed coaxially about the cupping arm turret, and an actuator cooperatively associated with each cupping arm. Each of the mandrel cups and cupping arms are disposed radially about the cupping arm turret. The mandrel cups releasably engage the unsupported end of the mandrel against the outer ring guide. The mandrel cups have a hold-open position and a hold-closed position and are carried in a radial orbital path about the cupping arm turret while disposed in either of the hold-open position or the hold-closed position. Each actuator disposes the corresponding cupping arm from the hold-open position to the hold-closed position.

Abstract:
A separating device includes a carrying-out portion for carrying-out a medium, and a conveying portion for conveying the medium carried out by the carrying-out portion. A separating portion is provided between the carrying-out portion and the conveying portion, and is rotatable about a rotation fulcrum. The separating portion has an end portion separably contacts the carrying-out portion to separate the medium therefrom. The separating portion includes a first guiding portion rotatably provided for guiding the medium separated from the carrying-out portion to the conveying portion. The first guiding portion is provided between the carrying-out portion and the conveying portion, and has a rotation center located on the carrying-out portion side with respect to the rotation fulcrum. When a straight line is defined by connecting contact areas of the carrying-out portion and the conveying portion, the rotation center is located on the straight line side with respect to the rotation fulcrum.
