    摘要： A vacuum lifting arrangement for flat workpieces, such as wooden boards, wooden beams and the like, includes a vertically and horizontally movable housing bounding a suction chamber having a downwardly open suction side. A valve insert is accommodated in the suction chamber and is preferably removably mounted on the housing. A closing plate is hingedly mounted on the housing for pivoting into an out of a closing position in which it sealingly covers the downwardly open suction side of the suction chamber and the valve insert. An elastic sealing element in the form of a foamed mat having suction apertures is mounted on the closing plate, and is operative for sealingly contacting the workpieces to be lifted.

    摘要： An adjustable gripping apparatus having two pairs of grippers. Each of the grippers of the first pair is slidably mounted for sliding movement along a laterally extending guide means. Each of the grippers of the second pair is mounted on an associated one of a pair of oppositely spaced gripper positioning members. The gripper positioning members are each rotatably supported to rotate about a pivot axis extending perpendicular to the lateral direction of the guide means. A pair of articulating linkage assemblies are provided, each of which is pin connected at one end to one of the first pair of grippers and fixedly connected at the other end to an associated one of the gripper positioning members. The joint of each articulating linkage assembly is offset from the pivot axis of its associated gripper positioning member so that rotation of the gripper positioning member causes sliding movement of the associated gripper of the first pair to change the gripping position thereof.

    摘要： A magnetic valve vacuum head construction for pallet loaders, for hoisting, or lifting rigid, sealed cartons, packages, boxes, or cases to transfer them to or from and to load or unload them to or from pallets for palletized material handling. The vacuum head has lift plate means with a work-engaging face communicating through a series of box-like cells and a mask plate to the plenum chamber of a blower mounted on the head supplying the suction. A series of orifices in the mask plate each form airflow passages between the cells and the plenum chamber. Each valve has a magnetic metal plate of larger dimensions than those of the controlled orifice and an actuator connected to the magnetic plate formed of nonmagnetic material. The actuator extends through the orifice and normally projects below the work-engaging face of the vacuum head to engage the cartons to be hoisted for opening the magnetic valve.
