    摘要: The synthetic amorphous silica powder of the present invention is obtained by applying a spheroidizing treatment to a granulated silica powder, and by subsequently cleaning and drying it so that the synthetic amorphous silica powder has an average particle diameter D50 of 10 to 2,000 μm; wherein the synthetic amorphous silica powder has: a quotient of greater than 1.35 and not more than 1.75 obtained by dividing a BET specific surface area of the powder by a theoretical specific surface area calculated from the average particle diameter D50; a real density of 2.10 to 2.20 g/cm3; an intra-particulate porosity of 0 to 0.05; a circularity of 0.50 to 0.75; and an unmolten ratio of greater than 0.25 and not more than 0.60.

    摘要: As for a pyrogenically produced silica-titania mixed oxide particle, titanium content is 50 wt % or more, a BET specific surface area is 100 m2/g or less. When these particles are observed using an electron microscope, a ratio of a silica single particle and a titania single particle is controlled to 10% or less, and preferably 5% or less. The silica-titania mixed oxide particle has high composting ratio of silica and titania, and excellent dispersibility and environmental stability. Further, when the particle is used as an external additive for an electrophotographic toner, the particle has sufficient durability and transferability, so that an excellent image characteristic can be obtained.

    摘要: The invention provides a process for the production of fumed silica. The process comprises providing a silicon halide feedstock comprising about 80% to 100% methyltrichlorosilane, combining the silicon halide feedstock with hydrogen gas and oxygen gas to form a reactant mixture, discharging the reactant mixture out of a burner, and combusting the hydrogen gas and the oxygen gas of the reactant mixture so as to hydrolyze the silicon halide feedstock to produce fumed silica. Hydrogen (H2) is present in a mole fraction of about 0.11 or less based on the reactant mixture, and/or the velocity of the reactant mixture upon exiting the burner is about 25 m/s or more.
