    摘要: The invention relates to a horizontally designed, non-heat recovery-type coke oven comprising at least one coking chamber, downcomers that are laterally disposed in relation to the coking chamber, and bottom ducts which are horizontally arranged below the coking chamber in order to indirectly heat the coking chamber. At least some of the interior walls of the coking chamber are embodied as a secondary heating area by coating the interior walls with a high-emission coating (HEB). The minimum emissivity of said high-emission coating is 0.9. Preferably, the high-emission coating (HEB) is made of Cr2O3, Fe2O3, or a mixture containing said substances, the Fe2O3 moiety in a mixture amounting to at least 25 percent by weight and the Cr2O3 moiety in a mixture amounting to at least 20 percent by weight.

    摘要: A high strength mortar has been developed for use with silica brick, in the construction of coke-oven heating walls. When fired to conventional coke oven temperatures of about 1100.degree. C., the mortar develops a tensile strength within the mortar itself, and a tensile bond to the silica brick, which exceeds the tensile strength of the silica brick. The mortar is composed of three primary solid constituents: 25 to 88 percent SiO.sub.2, 6 to 65 percent Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 and 4 to 12 percent P.sub.2 O.sub.5. To achieve such high tensile strength, the other solid constituents must be maintained at a minimum, desirably less than four percent and preferably less than two percent.

    摘要: The output of coke ovens is increased if the brick constituting the wall between the flues and the coking chamber has a thermal conductivity matched to the rate at which the coke accepts heat. Magnesite has been found to have appropriate thermal conductivity. This material at the lower end of the coking range, namely 1200.degree. C, is impractical due to the fact that it develops cracks and flakes off. However at the higher end of the desired coking range, namely 1300.degree.-1400.degree. C, these difficulties do not appear, and the use of the material leads to increased output of the furnace. More particularly according to the invention firebrick is used which has a thermal conductivity of 2.0-6.0kcal/mh.degree. C and is composed of 20-45% SiC, 23-57% Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 with the remainder consisting of SiO.sub.2 and traces of other oxides.
